Not pretty reading for either Bristol clubs! Taken from the post - http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristol-City-tops-list-football-bans/story-19925972-detail/story.html BRISTOL City have the most unfriendly fans in England, according to new figures. Last season, 34 troublemakers were banned from Ashton Gate and every other football stadium in the country â the highest of any club in the Football League or Premier League. Meanwhile, their arch rivals Bristol Rovers have 16 fans with FBOs as of September 20 and nine were issued by the courts last season, which was the joint 13th highest out of 92 teams. The report released by the Home Office has also recorded how many people were arrested at grounds across the country in 2012/13. Bristol City had 54 fans arrested, 42 of which were at away games and the vast majority were for public disorder. Rovers had 25 arrests, seven at home and 18 away. Brighton and Hove Albion has the âfriendliestâ fans. Only 24 supporters of the Championship side were arrested last year and it was one of only three teams not to issue a banning order. Newcastle United had the largest number of fan arrests last season â 175 â but Premier League champions Manchester United were a close second, with 145. On a national level, there is a general downwards trend in football-related arrests. As previously reported, Avon and Somerset police have issued 24 CCTV and photographic images of Rovers and City fans they suspect may have committed offences when the two clubs clashed in the Johnstoneâs Paint Trophy first round at Ashton Gate earlier this season. Statistics hmm, as we get quite a few travelling supporters, as a percentage of our average attendance, I wonder what the % would look like? Also of the 18 fans arrested on away matches were most of them for one particular game?or 18 seperate games,if so how many of the home fans at these games were arrested as well?Again not an excuse but it may serve to put stats in perpective. Not trying to hide the fact that 18 were arrested, but there may have been specific circumstances behind these arrests having travelled to many away matches you generally dont see much trouble unless its a local derby fuelled by alcohol and the usual animosity between fans as you highlighted the JPT match between Rovers and City this season. Still not as positve a reflection on our supporters as you would wish to see though! COR
It is based on statistics, we are top due to the average fan base to number of arrest. Hence why Newcastle have the most arrest but are not top of the list. Nothing to get to clever about, with ours and yours being quite high against other cities so sometimes it better to say nothing at all. Plus next years will probably be higher due to the derby.
That's right, our fan base is around 13,000 people with 54 arrested that makes us all hooligans, great thinking there.
To be honest I'm not surprised at these stats. Another classic example of why football in Bristol is ****ing backward
Those figures are based on last season, we played them this season you twat. Sometimes you really do say stupid things you prat
i may be wrong but the way i took ROD's comment was that he was saying the derby we had this season in the jpt will show up on next years stats so the arrest figures and bans will be higher than the stats recorded this year. this years stats are about last season. next years stats (which ROD was talking about) will be on this season which includes the jpt derby between us.
It's fairly clear where most of our arrests came from, Cardiff at home and away.. wouldn't surprise me if all of our arrests were from those games
My bad, I read your comment wrong But you can see why we have the most unfriendly fans in the country with a reply like that
The most unfriendly fans in the country proof is in the pudding, when they have no one else to fight they fight among themselves
