    Anders Breivik?

And they've pronounced him sane, honestly.

21 years? Poor old Mark Chapman did the world a great service through his deed and he's served 32 already. Justice gone mad I'm afraid.

The smug looking cnut only got 21 years! That's about 14 weeks per person he killed. If the Norwegians are anything like us he'll be back out in about 10-15 years. Sh1t beard too.

21 years is the maximum sentence they can give him under their law, apparently. However, they don't need to let him out in 21 years. They can keep him in if they still consider him "a danger to the public".

So said a chap interviewed on the radio today. Basically, he'll never see the light of day again.

I heard that too - they said that if he starts to show remorse and either gets really ill or converts to a religion and sees the light they might let him go. That's all they need - a cold hearted psycopath who killed 70 odd people converting to Islam or right wing christianity in a bid to get free <doh>

The Scandinavian countries have a different view of sentencing and rehabilitation, apparently.

A bloke from Norway called Varg Vikernes was one of the most prominent members of the early black metal scene over there.
He murdered one of his own bandmates, stabbing him 23 times and burned down a series of churches.
When they arrested him, they found 150 kg of explosives and 3,000 rounds of ammunition at his house.

He also got 21 years, like his fellow loon Breivik, but only served 16.
He'd have done less, but he absconded when given a period of leave, getting caught in a stolen car with a couple of guns, a load of knives and a fake passport.
    Lovely bloke.

He's out now, spouting his neo-Nazi, Pagan-themed lunacy and continuing to release albums.
Brought out two while in prison, too.
I'm sure he'd get on well on here. <ok>
