What would you say the most reliable football news source is? I'm personally leaning on Sky Sports, they do post the odd piece of steaming ****. But they are mostly very good at there jobs, compared to the Dailyfail for example. I'd just like your opinions on the matter. Thanks <cheers>

No problem , although they don't talk about too many rumours , but are extremely up to date and rarely get something wrong <ok>

I can't recall who now (sorry), but someone posted a survey of the various papers
and their hit rate of accuracy - IIRC the Independent was best of a bad lot
Depressingly, still a low %age accuracy figure mind

On twitter, the only 3 I'd listen to are @MsiDouglas @SkyGraemeBailey and @nufcfans

This + official NUFC site (only way it's certainly true). Sky are alright but they have the urge to make up complete bullshit every so often.

    Also @MsiDouglas isn't reliable!

That's true, but they only post 100% truth. They don't post and rumors or something which is 55% (Sky)

Good old BBC! Usually a bit late but still totally reliable.

And never mind the Mirror or Daily Star for making stuff up,
the Telegraph still think SBR is fit and healthily sitting out
    matches at Wimbledon... <whistle>

I'm pretty realiable, I tweeted the Nolan transfer 4 days before anybody else. Also I tweeted the correct N'Zogbia info 6 hours before all the "In the Knowers"

Good thread idea! I've wondered that a lot every time someone comes out criticising how **** a rumour source is. And since SSN and nufc.com are my typical sources for news, I guess I'm doing alright

Also, I tweeted that the Everton "hijack" story on Demba Ba was bullshit when everyone else was claiming he was on his way to Goodison...

Funny, I don't tweet much but always tend to be right ... I suprise myself sometimes...

    Talksport is very reliable.

    They never print anything factual.

Guardian's pretty decent. And the Independent as was mentioned before. I also agree, Sky Sports has a tendency for bullshit but they do publish the more reliable rumours in general, whilst the BBC only publishes facts and avoids rumours.

Unreliable? The Sun posts whichever rumours allow it to come up with a terrible pun for a headline, and if you've been on our board, you'll see our annoyance with the Mirror. This blog actually takes a look at some of the rumour mongering that goes on there:

    http://www.rokerreport.com/2011/6/2...cording-to-alan-nixon-daily-mirror-journalist

Its not purely Sunderland based too so I recommend a read ;)
