Owen is the most hated player we've ever had I'd wager. Hate his guts personally.

To be honest, that entire squad.

But, Nicky Butt and Alan Smith never really pissed me off, in the end Butt did try and pull it together- but watching him for us I could never fathom he was once a useful player for Man Utd, like how?

Smith, I feel for him, he got an injury which simply ended his career as he knew it. Transitioning into a sorta useful CDM takes a tough cookie, he's got some respect for that.

tbh, I usually hate players from other teams more than anyone who plays for us.

 

Amazed that you have picked out two current players who give their all when they play and can never be accused of hiding. If we are playing players who are crap its a club/managerial issue and you can't hold the players selected responsible for not being good enough.

I dislike any player who doesn't act in a professional manner so Hatem Ben Arfa would be top of my list. An immensely talented player who didn't even have the self discipline to control his weight. I would love to know what the story is with St Maximin as well - he is starting to piss me off too. Michael Owen generally acted in a thoroughly professional manner when he as under contract with us but never really seemed to want to be here.

 

I hate players who play for us then slag us fans off because THEY where **** and didn’t try and we picked up on that fact.

Owen is right at the top of the list.

Not a player but big Sam has slagged us off a bit since leaving.

Controversial this one because he was actually class for us but cabaye when he threw his toys out the pram and refusing to play to get a move.

Then there’s players who used us to either make more money or simply step up a club. So Remy is in that category.

We need take more note of players who have had problems with previous clubs, I love St Max as a player but didn’t he have issues with Nice? Everytime we seem to buy a maverick something somewhere seems to **** up before long. Thauvin was a shocker aswell, as was Cabella.

I can’t stand Owen but mainly for what he’s said these last couple of years about us.

How they are as a person. How they treat others. Etc.
Michael Owen for example wasn't a **** player but a **** of a human being.

I don't understand how people can hate the likes of Hayden. He's not a very good player but let's assess. We bought him for peanuts (something like £4m for a 21 year old English player) and he's always tried his best for us. He gets played because managers can rely on him to do the job they ask him to and is seen as a better option than the alternatives.

It's like hating Hayden Mullins for keeping Mascherano out of the West Ham team that almost went down. Hate the manager for playing him if you want, question the "better player" as to what they are doing in training/matches for the manager to think this poor player is a better pick by all means but hating the player who is trying their best solely because you think their best isn't good enough? Makes no sense. I suspect really you hate what they represent, the level the club is at, etc.

We say we just want a team that tries and hold banners proclaiming as much. Yet there are plenty in our fan base who it needs to be amended for to say:

"We only demand a team who tries. Unless you're not also a brilliant footballer who can win us things in which case f*ck off with your 100% effort as I hate you"

Gutierrez was always a limited footballer but I loved his efforts and when he came back from his cancer treatment to score the goal that kept us up it was one of my favourite moments of supporting the team. He wasn't a great player though and maybe we should add him to the list of hate?
