Which English club do you personally believe has the most deluded fans ? As seen in Europe this year there are no longer any world superpowers or european heavywieghts in English Football at the moment despite the views of some misguided diehards. Arsenal : Usually their fans set unrealistically high targets despite obvious inefficiencies in certain areas. Also crumble in Europe. Inevitably the fans get frustrated to the point of a mental breakdown when this happens as they believe that Arsenal were destined for so much more. Man Utd: Ferguson left what we all knew was a poor team with a non existent midfield and despite Van Gaal's progress which has come at a massive financial cost with some pretty dire showings. Are United fans delusional in thinking they are the pinnacle of English Football as they once were ? Liverpool : Similar to Arsenal yet seemingly look to someone else to blame for their shortcomings often outside the club whereas Arsenal seem to go for Wenger. One could argue the staunchly passionate Scousers are what make Liverpool fans seem deluded as to be fair to them they would die before admitting Liverpool were in the wrong and because of this they constantly give us gems such as " next year will be our year " and believing that the term " Negrito" in a game with as much contempt involved as a Man Utd Liverpool derby would genuinely be a term of endearment towards a black man. Many also claimed "there wasn't much" in both Suarez biting incidents. Spurs: Despite having their best team in decades decimated by Real Madrid and also pissing a hundred odd million up the wall after a huge Bale windfall are their fans deluded in thinking they can ever become a consistent top 4 club ? Despite some dire showings over the last two seasons and in Daniel Levy it seems that the short route to success by throwing money at problems seems to be the general Spurs approach. Are Spurs fans delusional in thinking this very different approach to their arch rivals Arsenal will ever result in them claiming any sort of ascendancy in North London ? There may be many others from your own experiences such as Newcastle or maybe even West Ham. I have chosen not to include Man City or Chelsea as they are manufactured clubs ruing the game and development of many young players. As most of their fans don't agree with this basic fact it's fair to say it's certain they are deluded.
Definitely Southampton fans. I thinl we can all agree on that. All the clubs above have actually done something in the Game. Saints conducted some illegal gene experiments and brought us Monkey boy.
Has to be Spurs fans for trying to convince themselves that they are the better North London team. Despite Arsenal winning two doubles, four league titles, six FA cups and playing Champions League football every season in the time since the Spuds last won a major trophy. If you go back even further, their record is even worse. 13 league titles to 2, we've won as many league titles at their ground than they have in their entire history, but it doesn't stop the delusion coming from the ****ty half of North London.
Hull without doubt. Been thinking they're better than they are for a while. Not so quick to wum other boards these days though are they? Suddenly keeping themselves to themselves.
No need for pointless insult on this thread UIR. The purpose of this thread is to debate one of the most fiercely debated topics in English Football fandom. Your irrelevant jibe at Southampton's youth academy would suggest that you are somewhat jealous considering your own has only produced footballing colossus such as..... Tom Cleverly since 1992.
What a shock you have posted that. We all think we are better than Arsenal, yep banged to rights Oh and yawn.
They're a funny lot. Getting too big for their boots. As long as they dont go into administration again, they will be ok.
I see that I have ruffled a few feathers of those with their heads firmly in the sand ! I do not mean to offend, I am merely a conduit to express popular opinion of fans and pundits alike, a middleman of some sorts. I see Chelsea and Man Utd served a particularly quality free game last Saturday. Amazing to think in 2008 this fixture was a Champions Legue Final, I somehow get the impression a few fans of each of these teams think nothing has changed since then

The OP is a very poor version of me! He's even copied a couple of my trademark wum-comments. But, to be serious for a moment, I think the top 5 set of "England's most deluded fans" are:- 1. Mousers 2. Blue Mancs 3. Spanners 4. Toon Army 5. Skate-loving Saints' fans
No wumming at all here. Just hard hitting facts most fans can't accept, big difference. And get over yourself
Liverpool fans delude themselves into thinking that all their players are world class and that next year is their year so they number one. City fans delude themselves by thinking they are a 'massive' club and have 'the best fans in the country' and that anyone gives a flying **** about them apart from themselves. They aren't, they don't and no one does so they are number two. Arsenal's biggest delusion over the last decade is that they play 'the best' football, despite winning **** all. This has died down the past couple of years though as it dawned on them that passing the ball wasn't really invented by Arsene Wenger and has in fact been going on since football began. Chelsea fans delude themselves that winning is all that matters and that the dogshit served before them is ok so long as it secures three points.
