Anyone watching it? I love watching it when it's on, also a very timely reminder that Christmas is around the corner. For this who watch I'm pleased Earl Strickland isn't playing, what a prat.

Earl the pearl is a legend mate! A prat also but a legend none the less. One of sports most talented and volatile alumni.

I think I've watched about two hours of pool in the last ten years and even I know who Strickland is, I don't know if it's good that you're such a dickhead that everyone remembers you but it's something.

I've watched it every year for around 15 years at least. Been some famous snooker players involved in the past like Steve Davis, Alex Higgins and Jimmy White.
Earl the Pearl hasn't been in their team for the last few years now as they are going with youth and have dropped the old guard.
Similar to the Ryder cup just a dif sport. Also similar in that USA were once domminant but Europe now win most years.
As said above, i always know xmas is just around the corner when it's on haha.

I watched about 30 minutes of this earlier tonight, and, although it's only been a relatively short period of time, I've made my mind up . . . . what a load of ****e :emoticon-0100-smile

Used to be epic to me! Always close with the USA winning more often, I love the Dynamic of Europe vs USA. I play snooker and pool so naturally enjoy the Mosconi cup. I absolutely hate golf but love the Ryder cup and the characters it creates it's instant Hero's and villians. I mean I wouldn't watch Ian Poulter play in let's stay the open? (That sounds golfish) my own house but I'd pay to stand on a cold golf course and watch him in the Ryder Cup.

And also one massive miss to the mosconi cup now is the great Sid Waddell

Syd was pure comedy genius with some of his one liners in the Mosconi cup. A particular favourite of mine was when he said a player was that quick round the table he was "like Linford Christie on castors" lol.
I agree tho Giacch that when the matcher were closer it was a much better spectacle.
I also used to laugh at Strickland being wound up by the fans heckling him. He became a liability to the usa team in the end tho and got dropped!

Can't stand it personally. Much like the darts. Like it down the pub/club don't want to watch it on TV.

Wouldn't watch dominoes or cards either.

I think when i started watching it years ago it was much more exciting and with the likes of Syd Waddel commentating it was much more fun. Added to that the likes of Strickland reacting to the crowd and nearly coming to blows with the european players on occasion it made for great viewing.
