Good read. Still concerned about the comments made about Aquilani and how Kenny couldn't 'fit in him the team'. From DC's comments, it appears that Aqua wanted to stay and play as many games as possible but we couldn't provide that. If this is true, I think it's a poor decision to let him go. Stevie has been struggling with form and injuries and at this moment in time, I rather start with Aqua than Stevie.
Fair point but this decision was probably made before Meireles decided to go, otherwise things may of been very different.
I think you're trying to read too much into one short interview. There is no way that DC is going to go off into the wide yonder and negotiate for players purely on his own wim! As for Aqua. Kenny has already made it clear that Aqua was with us "at a high personal cost to himself" ie his family were still in Italy. Now I don't know why they could not/would not join him but that is the case. If I were in that situation then only playing the majority of games would make that sacrifice worthwhile. We are already seeing that Kenny is not planning to give that assurance to ANY member of the squad. That is my understanding of why Kenny could not "fit him in the team".

I personally found it very good. first you have to accept these are the questions posed to him rather than simply his "scripted" agenda... yes his answers are prepared of course. As for kenny bring this player or that player to comolli and telling him to go do it.... ermm..... well we pay scouts to go do that. in the 80's those scouts would report to kenny. thats not the model now. For me it's still quite reasonable to assume that mr comolli and the king work together to draw up a list of player types and poistions and then mr comolli goes off and gathers recommendations abck form the well paid scouts. As such kenny can then pick and choose. I'd rather kenny working with the players, developing the team spirirt and tactics and acheiving on the pitch thats more than a full time job with the amount of works we've had to do in the past 9months.

I think you have to realize with Aqua, they thought Meireles was going to stay and then he decided to vamp out. Although accordng to Meireles the club wanted him to go all summer, according to comolli, meireles put them in a tight spot, not sure who to believe but it is all done and dusted now. Would love to see a Gourcuff,Jovetic in that role anyway!! Sky-WWSD? lol.
