And Ive no doubt England will excel at being dismal in Brazil. To be honest, after the Euros debacle, Ive no interest in Ireland qualifying for anything until we can be competitive at finals

Agree Bucks. Revie then Wilko. Wilko was the one who set up the youths and IMO made it easy for O'L. I mean I think I could have got a good team going with all the money O'L had at his disposal.

I think he will bebetter than Wilko whose head was even bigger than Cloughies who in their right mind would sell Cantona for £1m!

Maybe he was big headed, but he got us out of the old 2nd division as Champs and won the old 1st division, he sold Cantona because he was disruptive and no one player is bigger than the club. We got Giles and Strachan so managers do make mistakes. He also had a ten year vision and set up the academy which produced many good players. So I'll judge Maccer when he either wins something or gets us promoted. So in my humble opinion, it's Revie and Wilko...

60, the reason we sold Cantona for £1m apparently had nothing to do with football, more about ensuring peace in the camp.

Irish I think you're right in one respect, but remember we needed a manager and the club went for Martin o'neal who knocked us back. DOL stood in and because he was working with the kids and knew what they could do, he put them in. They rewarded him and he got the job and all was well and it got boring listening to him being interviewed saying his kids were doing ok, and were not frightened of the big clubs etc. we don't stand a chance but we'll see what we can do ....... finished up predictable but he did get the kids doing it for him.

Brian kidd comes in and DOL starts wearing a suit instead of tracksuit and being with the kids in training. Ethos changed and started to slide backwards. So although you say it was easy for him because of those kids, it was a brave move and brilliant after watching our team grind out boring results under Graham

England went out on pens, beaten by no one over 90 mins play in the Euro's,may not have been great to watch but that's not dismal.Look up the ROI results if you want dismal.

No comparison in the pool of players available to both countries. Our squad is 50% Championship standard. Its an achievement to qualify whereas England have never won anything outside of their own shores and are further away than ever from winning anything with countries like Germany and Spain light years ahead

So you don't want to compare England to the ROI because Englands bigger.but you do want to compare England to Germany with 30 million more people. If you consider the people across the world with Irish decent(Several million in England alone) the gaps not as big as you think.

36 million in USA.OR 12% of the population.

O'Leary won nothing, so that's why IMO Wilko was better. O'Leary went on to manage successfully at? Villa nope, they wouldn't throw silly money at him and some arab team.
