Watzuppp peeps, At long long last that little cretin jaytab has once again been removed from our board, a little quicker next time please (powers from above) Leeds head down to London Road on Saturday looking for their first away win of the season. With Green out for several weeks, wonder whether Warnock will again move players out of position or rely on the players that HE bought in over the Summer and play them in the proper positions??? A lot of conversations over the last few days have been about Drury, and why he did not play at Blackpool. When a centre back loses their pace, why not move them to centre back, a good example of this is Ian Harte. Was Harte blessed with pace, NO, some can walk faster than Harte can run. Thing is Drury has played centre back at Norwich (as well as full back). Peltier played through the pain of a dislocated shoulder during Tuesday night’s clash with Blackpool. Can't have been easy!!! ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY 1989 The opening home game of the 1989/90 season against Middlesbrough kicks off late, with fans being locked out of the ground. In a dramatic game, Leeds come from behind to win 2-1. Bobby Davision equalised for Leeds before a classic own goal by Gary Parkinson in injury time wins the game. 1994 Noel Whelan scores the only goal of the game against Arsenal in injury time. His long-range effort deceives David Seaman in the Gunnners goal to earn Leeds the points. 1997 Leeds lose their first game of the season when they are beaten 2-0 at home by Crystal Palace. 1999 Liverpool leave Elland Road with the points in a 2-1 win for the visitors. 2000 Leeds qualify for the group stages of the champions League with a 1-0 second leg win in Munich. Leeds led 2-1 from the first leg and their passage was secured with the only goal of the game from Alan Smith. 2003 Leeds are beaten 2-1 at Spurs in their first away game of the season. Alan Smith gives Leeds an early lead but goals from Mauricio Taricco and Freddie Kanoute win the game for Spurs. 2005 Goals from Michael Ricketts and Fraser Richardson secure Leeds a 2-0 win over Oldham in the League Cup at Elland Road. 2008 Luciano Becchio scores his first Leeds goal in the opening minute of the game at Yeovil but they have to settle for a point as Yeovil level through Lloyd Owusu. 2011 Leeds book their place in the third round of the League Cup thanks to two good strikes from Ramon Nunez after Doncaster Rovers had taken an early lead through James Hayter.
Morning all, yes team selection had some of us baffled as on paper it didn't make much sense to us, although I'm sure Warnock had his reasons. Well whatever the reasons it failed badly and maybe neil should tell us what his thinking was, because he was quick to kick the front 4 and Varney. It also got young Sam a baptism of fire, even though the kid equiped himself pretty well a couple of days before. Yes if the front players had got hold of the ball, we wouldn't have their attack running at us as much ..... I'm hoping for firstly a good team performance against Posh, and secondly a nice win. This seasons going to be long and hard, especially if we don't bring in another player or two. Everyones going to lose points and don't think we'll see another runaway leading group.
Morning! Gee, that 1860 Munich win brings back memories. I was in Ibiza at the time and found a bar full of Leeds fans watching the game. Awesome night knowing we were going into the Chumps Lge. What a run we had, and I shall never forget Elland Road rocking when we hosted Barcelona, knocking them out in the group stages!
I like Sam, but he has a lot to learn, why not send him out on loan to a league one style club (like Millwall). Peltier was bouight for the right back position, so for gods sake play your best players in their best positions
Morning Mighty, we did the double over them last season, even O'Dea got on the score sheet, so, yeah, Ill go for a 4-0 win to the MIGHTY Whites
Yeah, Barca were not happy bunnies, threw all their toys out the pram.... Which game in the Champions League qualifyer had to be replayed as the opposition played too many overseas players, and we won the reply with a majical goal from Shutt (inspired substitution taking off Cantona)
well silly me i been thinking you were our feeder club seeing as we got Lowry,Keogh,Taylor, all players that we took on cos you couldnt afford them
Morning all - If Drury doesn't get a start on Saturday against Peterborough then you have to question when he ever will. Would it be Boyd coming at him or does he play the opposite side? If it is Boyd then I hope Drury can mark him out of the game and show Warnock why he would not be a good signing.
Morning all. Love this two games a week idea. You only get a couple of days to get over the last pile of ****e and we get another game to look forward to. Hopefully, another win Saturday and another clean sheet. Couple of decent loans, cant believe Im saying that, and things mightnt look too bad on Sunday
Morning All, Re. Peltier at left back - if I remember correctly, Warnock explained that Ince was the main danger, and he almost always cuts in from the right wing. He wanted Peltier to mark him out of the game, and when he did cut in, Pelts would have his right foot goalside, so to speak, giving him a slight timing edge in the tackle. Sounds good in theory, and Warnock was satisfied that it worked. Who am I to argue?
Morning all. Pelts back to RB, Drury at LB, Pearce & Lees at CB. Then Brown & Austin CM, White one side with Varney?? the other side, leaving Becchio & McC. up top. Looking forward to the game. 3-0 Leeds
