    Morning Peeps,

Leeds may face a selection dilema at left back. Warnock picked up an injury in training last Thursday which has been made a lot worse when a bad tackle mid way through the first half saw him substituted. What I didn't know is that Drury is also out injured. Not a great time to send our remaining left back out on loan, is it?

Pearce filled the role at left wing back and Zaliukas was bought on the make his debut at the heart of the defence.

Lets hope Warnock is fit to face Charlton on Saturday.

Back to the match, we won 2-0. Looked comfortable enough once we had scored. A few questions though. Should we be beating teams like Yeovil by more than two goals, or are you of the opinion that a win is a win?

McCormack is now up to seven goals for the season. Should he be on more?

If we are still hoping for the play offs, do we need someone who can bang in twenty five goals a season?

Is this season going to be easier or harder then previous seasons when you see the teams around us?

According to the BBC Ross has 8 goals.

As for this season we won't be looking over our shoulder in March/April fearing the drop. Any of the top 12 could be battling for play offs until the last two weeks of the season.

Morning by the way. Clucking bell Elland you started this thread early. Is it guilt keeping you awake, or is all that ill gotten cash (bloody estate agents) making your mattress too lumpy to sleep on?

    Moring guys

I think we should be beating teams like Yeovil in a much better style, and although the score could read 2 - o it should be a case of 'we could have had 8'. I'm afraid we could well have had a goal against us and ended up with a draw. Yes you could say that this league is tough as it seems everyone is taking points off everyone, I dont think so. I think there are 6 teams who are favourites for the drop and 10 teams who are favourites for promotion. Yeovil and Huddersfield are in the bottom bunch and we should be rolling them over. I dont see us as getting into the top bunch until we stop struggling and show some stability. We never know what team is going to turn out do we, we could be great, average or poor against anyone as we have no consistency.

This is a tough league to get out of and in most cases you only do it because of investment in the squad. We are falling further behind each season because of parachute payments (Rewards for failure) making it unfair with no level playing field. We cannot hope to compete with Leicester, Forest and Watford who have all had investers and Blackburn, QPR, Wigan, Reading etc who have all had parachute payments and indeed carry on getting £12m per year for 4-years???

Can't recall us ever being better than ok this term. But I also can't remember us being totally ****e so far either. We have stabilised, but we need to improve, and with time and experience we will.

Last year we could be good (cups), or absolutely ****e (forest et al) we are at least more consistent performance wise than that now. Most players do seem to know their role at least. Varney understands he is now the tea boy so that's much better.

Morning all. We won't be trashing anyone except the awful Birmingham because we're average. However, despite fielding a lot of last years crew there is still a fair improvement. We've got to stop expecting 5 0 wins. We get a couple every week predicting it and frankly were just not that good. I am firmly in the " a win is a win camp" and will remain there for the remainder of this season.

Morning all. A win's a win. BMD said that Yeovil were better than their league position suggested, and they clearly raised their game for their cup final at ER. Warnock not being fit didn't help, as did Byram also not being available. With those two as WBs, we look nicely balanced. Sounds as though Pugh might well be in line for a recall. Not quite as bad as some on here might suggest. He's never done anything other than put in a shift for us. So we'll see how he does in this 352 formation that seems to help.

Yeovil outplayed us first half and we got booed off so to beat them 2 nil was a miracle imo.

Blackstock looked good although he only seems to have a left foot

Morning all - Anything less than a win would have been awful, a clean sheet is a bonus and 2-0 was about right. I have a strong feeling Blackstock will start the next game, curtains for Hunt and Varney with Smith on the bench. I don't agree Hunts performances are anything to do with formation, we can all see that he has nothing about him but huff and puff

    Elland

Part of Drurys contract says that he has to be injured for 95% of his Leeds career

The consencus so far is that we're not actually that good. We've spent 10 years outside the top flight and dont look like getting back anytime soon. Yes I can see an improvement this season as BMD seems to have organised us better. We seem to have got a few good players, but just to get us to where we were 4 or 5 years ago is a struggle as we are only now trying to replace players like Gradel, Snodds, BJ, Becchio, Beckford, Howson, Delph. The damage that Bates has done will take years to sort out without a big investment of cash. I find it criminal and the rest of the fans from other clubs find it laughable as they can say we are not famous anymore with justification.

Ristac, Can't say I share your sentiments on Hunt. Who knows what he'll be like playing in front of 352. It's certainly helped both Smith and McCormack. However, with those two and Poleon and Blackstock already ahead of him in the current pecking order, I can't see him even making the bench anytime soon. Best thing would be for him to go out on loan and show why he should be given a chance.

    Morning all <ok>

I'm in the win is a win camp too. Didn't sound like we played well at all I'm the first half, but we ground out a win. While I'm not advocating that we do that every week, it's important to be able to grind out points in games where we aren't playing well.

If Warnock is out for a bit (hopefully not) then it would have been a great chance for White, but like Boggers said, we might well see Pugh get a chance

MTMB makes an interesting suggestion. Assuming for the moment that both Drury and Warnock aren't available, would Charlie Taylor actually be ready to start for the first team? If not, which would be the better option, bringing White back off his loan spell, playing Pugh at LWB, or a third as yet unmentioned option?

Pugh at LB put him in the shop window would be my choice or Pearce moved over. When we signed Pearce I remember it being said that he is no stranger to playing at LB

Need a proper wingback in to keep this formation going, so no Peltier or Pearce.
Should try and get someone like Matty Taylor in on loan from West Ham. Don't think he's getting much of a look in under Fat Sam, and he's useful in that position.
