Morning Peeps, Another weekend to forget, another loss to a mid table team.... Derby seem to be one of our bogey teams, we just don't play well there!!! Where do we go from here. According to many of you, we were making schoolboy errors? It looks like Mowatt has made his position in the team permanent, well, at least semi permanent. Is he that good, or is the rest of the team that poor? Some are already calling for McDermotts head, its premature if you ask me, but what do you think? These are the odds for the next Championship Manager to be sacked. Which of these would be worth a punt? 5/4 Tony Mowbray 8/1 David Flitcroft 10/1 Dougie Freedman 12/1 Dave Jones 25/1 Chris Powell 25/1 Gianfranco Zola 33/1 Gary Johnson 33/1 Lee Clark 33/1 Gary Bower 33/1 Steve Lomas 33/1 Tony Mowbray 33/1 Brian McDermott 33/1 Paul Dickov 33/1 Nigel Clough 33/1 Oscar Garcia 33/1 Eddie Howe 33/1 Mark Robins 33/1 Paul Ince 40/1 Mick McCarthy 40/1 Nigel Adkins 40/1 Nigel Pearson 50/1 Owen Coyle 66/1 Harry Redknapp 66/1 Billy Davies 66/1 Sean Dyche
Morning Elland. Can't see BMD being sacked anytime soon. He can't legislate for child-like defending. I just think he needs to tweak the team somewhat. As I've said elsewhere, usual back 4 with Byram at RB if he's fit enough, Brown in front of the back 4 instead of Green. Not sure who would be the third member of the midfield trio, Diouf or Tonge (with Mowatt and Austin making up the other two positions, and Ross + either Poleon or Varney up top. As I say, just a few tweaks. Would be nice if either Hall came back firing or we unearthed another Gradel or Snodgrass from some obscure team or other. But I'm not sure where that would leave us in terms of formation & who drops out. Either way, some time for BMD to think things through.
Morning Boggers, Does anyone know whats happened to Chris Dawson? Has Mowatt overtaken him in the pecking order?
I was wondering that myself, or maybe he's injured. He's clearly not going to get game time for us at the moment. So he'd be better off going out on loan. Who was the other lonee that we also haven't heard anything of for a while... Fraser somebody I think. Played RM??
Never mind those odds did anyone get on the winner in the "Arc" yesterday, Treve was a cert 4/1....50 quid.......caching, thankyou Ladbrookes
Morning all. Difficult to find anything to say without going over the same stuff over and over again. To date with quarter season over, w 4, d2, l5, 10 goals scored. Same crap as second half of last season with basically same personnel. Conclusion.the personnel are not near good enough. Simple as. How bad has it got when were hoping to get Hall back and would probably welcome Morisson back. Whos next, barn door Billy? Weve been sold a pup in the form of GFH. It was supposed to be a purebred when it arrived but has turned out to be yet another scruffy mongrel. There is a real danger people they will do as much harm as Bates did but for different reasons. His were fraudulent, GFH is simply ignorance or lack of knowledge what it takes to run a successful Championship club. Mowatt looking very promising. We probably need two per year of that quality from the academy over next few seasons. As they mature, some will inevitably be snapped up unfortunately
Morning all In terms of the sack race, the three below are worth a punt! 10/1 Dougie Freedman 12/1 Dave Jones 25/1 Chris Powell
I'd take a cheeky punt on Freedman being the next champ manager to be shown the door. Bolton fans aren't happy. What are the odds of Moyes being sacked by the end of the season? that might be worth a couple of quid as well
talk of mcd gettin the sack is ridiculous and incredibly short sighted. who would come in that is better than him? no-one, there is no-one available better and no-one better would want to come to leeds anymore. also what would any replacement be able to do better? we always blame managers when in reality the players are just not good enough, we knew this at the start of the season so tbh i cant understand why people are kicking off at us being a mid table team cs its what was always what was gunna happen. short of proper investment we're not going to improve even if Mourinho was in charge! Rant over
Well I'm back from a sunny Spanish golfing holiday, and gutted about recent results. Can't believe we are still talking about the same crap we discussed 3 seasons ago. This is just not good enough and the longer it goes on (Having no money) the worse it'll get because we are falling further behind the teams who invested and the teams who have parachute payments. Hard to believe that Southampton are now 4th in the prem when 2 seasons ago they were with us in this league and got promoted with us from L1. We should have done back to back but .....
i made the same point yesterday about Southampton. So damn frustrating. Why can we never attract the proper people to run the ship?
Difference is DOC, they kept a guy who would guarantee them 20 goals a season & then sold him on when he bacame surplus to requirements. Where would we now be if we'd kept Beckford and Becchio (& Howson, Snoddy, & Gradel to be honest?
Funny Lomas and McDonut both 33/1 And Tony Mowbray 5/4 and Tony Mowbray 33/1 33/1 worth a punt on Mowbray or £10 win double that both Mowbrays get sacked at the same time
Dont forget Boggers, there were lots of posters here when Becchio was given away, happy to see him go and dissing his contribution of 19 goals up to that point. Im not sure have we scored much more than 19 collectively in the 30 odd matches since we gave him away. Certainly not too many more
I think Chris would be a better option than ****ing green. I like him but he pisses about with the ball too much and that pass just isn't acceptable!!!!
If GFH have made cash available and BMD can't get the players he wants, he needs to bite his tongue and change his focus. 1) He always said he won't bring players in on loan unless they can be available at the end of the loan in a transfer. Maybe he should now just get someone from a prem side who will add something. 2) He has stood by this squad and some of them have let him down, so time to weild the knife and tell the prats the truth. 'Oi Hunt you twat, I stood by you and told the fans you would come good ......' As Bates wanders off into the sunset with a sack load of our cash, from all the players he sold, unbelievable isn't it. He sold our bast and left us with 3rd rate wanabees in some cases. No manager has a chance without being able to get rid and have a wedge of cash to buy better
Plus were going full circle by signing the likes of Smith and Hunt, giving them two or three year contracts with the guarantee we wont be able to get rid of them either.
Morning all... Forget the schoolboy errors for the goals we conceded, we still can't find the back of the net and that is never going to change with the strikers we currently have. I have a feeling Brian will be sacked before the end of January, I don't want it to happen but the board are going to say they made funds available (spin?) and they are going to lay are poor league position at his feet. These signings amazed me at the time and they amaze me even more now, what is it with managers signing dross for us, Grayson, Warnock and McDermott - They have a great record of winning promotion yet some of the signings are just unacceptable. I loved him when he joined, I know some feel he is still a great keeper but I think it is also time for Kenny to go.
