Chelsea are a fair bit higher standard than he would come up against in the Championship, but your point stands. I think give Ashdown another run in the cup, but in no way is he a first team replacement for Kenny for me. And I've done my fair share of moaning about Kenny not controlling the area too!

Can't say I recall a bad performance on that occasion. As others have suggested, Chelski are a far higher standard than he would have come up against. Moreover, as he's not playing every week, it would have been even harder to deal with their forward line. But I still maintain he'll prove to be a better keeper than Kenny eventually.

By the way guys before I forget,

What's the difference between Neil Warnock and Millwall?

At least Warnock's got a point..... occasionally!!!

Where are the Wallies at the moment? Conspicious by their absence!!!

He was as good as Gary Sprake on a bad day. Dived on his belly for one shot that dribbled in from 25 yards

Is it not possible that we haven't signed these two players because McDermott hasn't found anyone he likes for what he and the board deem fair prices and wages? Look at Scum and Arsenal, all the money in the world to sign players, but they're struggling to find the right quality of player for the right price and wages.

It's all well and good saying we should sign Dawson or Mills at CB, but if they cost £2m+ and want £25,000 a week in wages then we have to look elsewhere. That said, if we haven't found anyone by the time the window closes I'll be disappointed

Would take the opposition 10 minutes to work that one out. it would be so predictable, I agree with the previous comment that Smith will never make it.

I think Smith will start to shine when we have a few players in the side who can actually deliver a half decent cross. Diouf coming back might relieve some of our poor delivery into the box, and Byram coming back will certainly help a lot.

If we can sign a centre back and a winger, McDermott may have plans to mould Byram into a winger. Definitely has the talent for it.

Hell be another in a very long list of very strange signings weve made in recent years. Like as if someone saw a ten minute youtube video and signed on strength of that

Can't believe Aiden White is only 21 <yikes> If someone offered 500k, should we accept it?

Does it matter how predictable it is if they don't have any players who can reach up high enough to deal with the threat?

Was predictable that Zigic would do it against us, still had nobody who could actually deal with it.

and only 25 goals in 95 games and three seasons shows the average team can cope and does cope with it. Honestly, if it were as easy as that a lot more teams with wide players who can cross the ball would have been in for him. We signed a giant who couldn't make a regular first team spot from a league one side and some people believe we have uncovered a 20 goal a season gem. You only have to watch him play for 20 minutes to know he has NOTHING in his game apart from the possible ability to win a high HOOF ball

Lost 3-0 with all 3 goals coming in the last 15 minutes when the Leeds defence went missing <doh> with 2 of the goals coming from Jason Scotland <yikes>

Diouf came through the 90 minutes unscathed <ok>

Mowatt looked good, so did Hall on the ball. Unfortunately Hall contributes nothing off the ball and that doesn't seem to fit McDermotts work rate/attitude he demands. Full backs done ok going forward. No width or striker with the killer instinct we lack. Almost a mirror for our first team when it comes to strengths/weaknesses its uncanny!
