Morning All, Phil Parkinson is the lastest Manager to be linked to the Leeds hot seat this Summer with Neil Warnock's contract seemingly not going to get renewed this Summer. I was reading another Leeds blog which got me thinking. Best Leeds team that did not play FOR US at the top division. For instance, you could have Snodgrass as he did not play for us at Prem level. Who would have been your starting XI? Not long til the Millwall match, surely, this must be 3 points in the bag. Wouldn't it be great is Morison bagged a hattrick??? Famous Millwall fans include broadcaster Danny Baker, Boxer David Haye, actors Tamar Hassan and Blake Harrison, darts player Andy Fordham, journalist Rod Liddle and legend has it singer Morrissey was spotted wearing a Millwall top in Los Angeles in 2008 with "mobster" printed on the back and even enquired about tickets for a then forthcoming clash against....Leeds United.
Morning Elland, 3 points is a must, otherwise we will have shandy drinkers gloating all over the place !!, Delph comes to mind but he turned crap after he left us which is a shame really as he was class when he turned it on for us be it in league one.....
With respect to Parkinson, and what he's achieved this season with Bradford, I take my hat off to him. But Bradford are not pulling up trees in the league, and this will be a backward step for the club, especially a club like ours. Respect the guy, but he has a long way to go before being able to take on our club. Our next manager needs to be a long term appointment, not a gamble. The manager needs to have a plan and a strategy for playing attractive, solid football with heart. He needs to have a budget, not a silly budget, but enough cash to get us the hell out of this league. He needs to be a manager who would thrive in the prem against billionaire clubs. A players manager, who gets respect from everyone. A bloke who builds the kids strategy and the development squad. Has a say in how coaching at all levels and also has a good network of scouts. A 3-year plan for all aspects of the football side of the business, and accept a bollocking if one part is failing, not just the 1st team squad. We want a manager who will be with the club for many years and would be able to compete in Europe. he doesn't need to be a household name, but a young bloke who has the potential for greatness
Morning all. Parkinson definitely no, rather keep Warnock than that. Would be a cheap option showing no ambition. Was thinking, why bother opening the away section for the Wall supporters. A waste of money for the extra police required. Couldnt we just stick the twenty of them in one of the new suites in the East stand. Wouldnt matter if they wrecked it as nobody uses them anyway. Might have a go at the best Leeds thing tonight when a little more time. How about Bale though. If he keeps this up, he'll give Messi a run for his money. Iv'e taken to watching the spuds just to see what his next trick will be
Phil Parkinson was utterly appalling for us, he did really bizarre things, like playing our best centre back on the left wing. He only lasted 24 games, mainly because he lost 13 of them.
Yeah worth a try, he was my fav player for a while! Warnock will be one of our best signings under erm, Warnock IMO
Evening everyone, sorry no morning thread this morning. Got to work and one of the plugs had melted into the socket, and had to call engineer to fix it, which was too late for the thread...
Day Lichaj Haddock Lees Blake (Noel) Sheridan Jones (Vinney) Howson Snodgrass Baird Beckford Bench Andy Ritchie Mickey Adams Aaron Lennon (played once for us in Prem) Delph Gradel
Cheers fella. I was toying with the idea of having Chris Kamara and vINCE Hilaire on the bench too but saw it as too much. Think I picked a balanced team, with a bit of bite....
Too many current or recent players for my liking. I would include Ian Snodin, John Stiles, Peter Swan, Dennis Irwin, Keith Edwards, Terry Phelan, Tommy Wright, Scott Sellars, Neil Aspin, Bob Taylor, and Kenny Burns way before considering any of the current players. I would have included Brendan Ormsby but for his horrendous mistake in the semi-final v Cov.
