Good Morning Millwall have reacted angrily over the Mails claim that Diouff was racially abused at the Den. The Mail story, which was swiftly removed claimed that DIouf had been the victim of "Monkey Chants" during Leeds 1-0 loss. Diouf appeared to be involved in an altercation with a small section of home and in the main stand towards the end of he game and spoke to referee Mark Halsey as Leeds slumped to a fourth straight Championship defeat. Warnock has taken another swipe at his former club QPR, insisting that Hughes is wrong to suggest that some of QPR's problems are down to the previous management. I think Warnock has more important things to worry about at ER, and should keep his mouth firmly shut. Warnock has described Varneys sending off as 'harsh' and said "If you have seen it, he catches him beneath the chin and he goes down like he`s been pole-axed in the head." Thoughts on the sending off? Who is getting fed up with Varney? Were there any positives to come out of the match for Leeds, maybe Hall's performance, or having McCormack back? It was good to see Grayson comment on the game yesterday, and keep his mouth shut over Bates, lack of money and the way he was treated. He conducted himself very well.
Varney deserved his red card. Up to then he and leeds were doing fine Positives were that they worked dammed hard for each other and for the shirt. That togetherness is the only thing to hang onto, but it is of the utmost importance Morning Btw
normally just lurk on the leeds board but wanted to share my thoughts on yesterday watched the game on tv here in australia. i thought varney deserved to go for what he did. too easy for colin to blame the officials for another defeat. leeds never looked like winning the game yesterday. the regression of the team under him has been apalling. i feel for him working under the present regime but remember grayson worked under the same regime and had us just out side the play offs. I honestly fear relegation.
Morning all, I can fully understand why Warnock is sticking up for himself and fellow management staff in relation to the goings on at QPR. He probably still feels very harshly treated that after winning the Championship in style and competing in the Premier League last season (they were hardly cut adrift) he was sacked, and now Hughes has had the opportunity to build on that team in a more stable environment, yet still blames the previous management, unbelievable! Grayson probably doesn't need to say anything on Bates now, because Warnock, a manager with more experience and promotions to the top tier has not received anymore funding, Snoddy was still sold and Bates has that much confidence in promotion that he's looking to sell. Doesn't make sense to me. So surely now it has helped to educate a larger number of fans that Bates is the problem, not the manager.
Morning Shadow, welcome fella !!! I don't fear relegation, but being the wrong end of the table will hamper which players we can bring to ER in January
Moring LDS, I understand what you are saying but disagree. I believe the more Warnock goes on about it, the more it detracts about the good job he did. Hughes is fighting for his life and is bound to blame the previous regime. Warnock would have come across a lot better if he made no comment. Anyways, he has a massive job to do at Leeds. Grayson went up in my expectations as he refused to comment, everybody knows how badly he was treated.
morning mate honestly i cannot see anyone of any quality coming in. sick of the amount of times i have read that the takeover is close. do you think the squad is much better than those around us? what do we think is the best we can hope for?
Morning all - Personally I can't take any positives from the game, it shows just how poor Varney is as the game never changed that much after his sending off, it feels like we are playing with 10 men when he is on the pitch in the first place. Millwall's finishing was poor, they cut through the middle of us with ease, once again we played a poor quality looking team who were not at their best and sadly we were worse. Becchio - We target him, if he jumps more than 6 inches for a header we are lucky, on the rare occasion he does win the ball there are no pacey midfielders running forward, our tactics seem to be constantly wrong. Hall - Hopefully he will bring some natural width to the team, is he still trying to gain match fitness or is he slower than we were lead to believe? I thought he was a pacey winger? Grayson - Top bloke in the interview, he must be laughing inside, he was sacked with a far greater record than Warnock has so far achieved and it doesn't look like getting any better.
Morning all. Positives - Not being turned over badly, Hall, & McCormack back. Negatives - Poor challenge by Varney, although a straight red may have been a bit harsh. Not holding on to a point. Not a great day, but at least the 'Wall express almost suffered a points failure at Deptford Junction. Harder games coming up & no sign that this T/O will happen before the loan window closes. All in all, not a great day to be a Leeds fan
I think varneys improved and would rather have him up top than Becchio. Elland think the mail used my tweet in that story ur referring to o dear
Morning All, 2 positives for me - Hall & the fact that there's no Varney for 3 matches. As for his red, he made it easy for the ref to make that decision. Whether he meant it or not (and it looked like he did to me!), he raised his arm. End of, especially with Halsey. I did think that little siht went down too easily, right enough, and as Warnock said, he was holding his head when it was his neck that got the contact. Isn't that the guy we almost signed on loan last season? Well rid if it was. Don't know if I want to say too much about Hughes and his lack of professionalism. Suspect he might be our next manger! Just a feeling.
Our problem is we only can defend for 80 minutes. How many more times are we going to let in goals (costly ones at that) in the last 10 minutes?
Morning all QPR and Hughes have a cheek, because after Warnock was sacked Hughes only just beat relegation, even though it was plain Warnock would have not been battling relegation. Then Hughes went out in the summer and brought in a whole new team, spending millions. he's failed badly with his own team, so nothing to do with Warnock. As for our season so far, I'm guessing that the squad are as much in the dark as to what's going on as we are. Until this takeover debacle is resolved I can't see us performing. Warnock brought in players, but he doesn't have a back up for injury and suspensions, and we have plenty of those. Its a joke and if its not resolved soon, we can forget the transfer window because we'll be goosed
Good point Doc. Hughes can moan as much as he likes. He was a decent player in his day. But he is a crap manager with blinkered vision.
Nevermind the supposed Monkey chants, what about the coin throwing at the linesman & probably a few Leeds players as well?
Boggers I thought I heard monkey chants but think it may have been leeds fans singing Diooouuuuuuuuuf I tweeted about it the mail used my tweet to create a story and millwall are suing the mail haha oops
YWBK - If you manage to get the Mail sued for plenty of £££ then we all owe you a beer. Thoughts on yesterday...Varney might have got away with the elbow but it was a ludicrous thing to do. As with Pearce's challange last week, some refs might have given him a yellow card but it's daft to take that risk. Other than that I thought we were dreadful. Our one game plan - get Kenny to pump the ball up to Becchio - is plainly not working.
