Hi ya Folks, Looking back on last nights performance, it makes me damn proud to be a Leeds fan. Everyone played there part, even Pugh . Becchio was up n down the pitch even though he was struggling with injury, Byram looked simply amazing Diouf is an absolute jem and must be handed at least a two year deal NOW, Austin bossed the midfield and Lees n Pearce were both sporting Kiisa headbands by the end of the match. (I wonder whether Kisnorbo has his headbandage copywritten . No doubt after dumping Everton out of the cup its gonna give us revenue, give us confidence and give our fringe players a try out, but will it affect our league performance. I reckon thie difference this season between promotion or not will probably be 2 wins, thoughts? We need to be playing either with 3 centre backs or have someone like Brown sitting infront of our (still) fragile defence. One of the Everton players was caught sobbing after the match. The camera's didn't catch it, but we do have an artists impression, any idea's?
Morning Woke up still on a bit of a high from that performance, great team effort. Also heard that this morning Merseyside police have finally called off their search for Marouane Fellaini, after he was found to have been in Rodolph Austins back pocket all night Lifted that from twitter, but seriously, how great was Austin last night?!
Morning matey, i dont think we are "that" fragile the centre backs are solid as u like however our problems have come from the wings, the majority of goals conceded have been from crosses or set pieces and Pelts clearly is better in the middle. Last night we saw Oviedo a 6 million rated player only make it past our flanks 2 or 3 times. If we play 3 center backs who do we replace outfield? (unless in a 343 or 353 etc) 5 at the back is a very negative tactic that requires fast forwards to counter attack, a luxury we dnt have. Last night i saw a master stroke by Neil, asking Becchio to track back and leave Diouf as the target man was genius. The guy is a maestro at this level and imo is a better player than Snoddy, and brings much more to the team. As for the league, well...historically we usually fold after good cup win however this team is full of grafters and more so players who want to prove a point. Pugh especially now his former team mate is with us and he has an opportunity to break into the side, will play out of his skin given the chance. Brown, whilst not the most mobile managed a full 90 minutes against Fellaini, Pienaar and that rather fast black fella! Bristol will be an interesting game.
Morning General, We certainly give away far too many free kicks. I think we need to play with morre attacking wing backs, who can push up and bolster our midfield, and can overlap our wingers. I thought Becchio did a great job consaidering he was injured, but Diouf was immence. Well done Warnock. Brown keeps himself in amazing condition, not an ounce of fat on him. I didnt arf laugh when he got booked.....
Leeds in Duhram, i was in the West stand last night so got a broadcast view of the game, and yet again Austin was a cut above. When we signed him folk were saying to me "u only seen him in youtube!". The guy was the best player in the Tippelagen and raved about by critics i knew he would be a hit.
Yeah Ellandback that was funny, at 34 he looks like hes got a year left in him. any investors attending cant see that game and want to miss out on our club.(school run brb)
Morning all. That was almost up there with the win at the sewer against scum. Difficult to see who was the Premiership team to be honest. Hugely impressed with the kids. Read somewhere that twat Eddie Gray was bragging about the strength of our squad. He's getting as bad as Lorimer. Thought I'd only have a fleeting interest in last nights game but frightened the crap out of our dogs jumping about and shouting. Great to be able to concentrate on the foot all again. Well done Warnock, still best manager in division
EHD was a different class and you can see why he's played at the highest level. He never panicked and held the ball well, and used it well. Everyone played their part and gave their all so I'm not going to rave about some of the performances as they all deserve credit. Yes there were times when Evertons class showed, but our boys harried them and put their bodies on the line. Well done Warnock and please keep this up.
Ill tell u what, the Everton fans were ridiculously silent last night, they only made noise on 4 occasions: Diouf blowing kisses The goal The Naismith near miss The penalty claim Poor fans
The atmosphere did sound good despite it being a relatively smallish crowd as well. The amount of empty seats didn't look good though
I can really see why bates took them thousands of tickets away from the Leeds Schools I mean come on we are selling out week in week out! What a **** he is taking away our future generations! Give the free tickets back to schools and fill elland road
absolutely - need to make sure the youngsters don't just go supporting premiership sides or the number of empty seats will just grow and grow
Morning all Did anyone else hear a classic Warnock moment last night? There was a period during the first half when Byram kept slicing the ball out of play. Warnock piped up "Sam, swap yer fooking boots over lad!" It seemed to work
West Ham was £10 adults and £5 juniors last night, same at Arsenal tonight. We should be doing the same.
Best thing last night was (for me) was seeing Austins passes! some of them were the best ive seen by a Leeds player since relegation, the 40 yard curved pass to Diouf in the box was insane! Although the fact that my mates and i had an entire row to ourselves was nice.
