Morning Everyone, A decent home win at last. We have at least done the double over Posh. Is anyone having second thoughts about keeping Paynter. Saturdays result was Warnocks first home win. If Grayson had still been in charge, could we have been in a higher position now??? Should be an interesting week. Players are going to get there letter letting them know if there services will be wanted next season. As far as I am concerned we should keep only 7 out of the 30 players. Really hope Gimpel steps up to the first team next season, though Gimpel and Lees are both very young, and defenders need experience....
Morning Gimpel is too young. Does not even get started in the under-18s each game. Needs to be brought in slowly. If Paynter can continue doing what he did on Saturday and shows such a marked improvement, there is no reason he can't be a good addition to the squad. Not sure about this letters stuff - the season has not finished yet. If a player has been told they are surplus to requirements, yet we want them to play in the last few games, they're not exactly going to be motivated. What is NW going to do about players who choose to just sit on their backsides and collect their wages?
Lorimer was saying that the players were going to get a letter this week, saying if they are staying or going....Morning btw
Yeah I know that, I just don't agree with it being done this side of the season finishing. I juts don't know if Lorimer knows what the hell is actually going on, either
Morning - I fail to see why anyone would get excited about Paynters goals, the first my dead granny could have scored and he missed several good chances, anyone decent would have had at least 3-4 goals. I am glad he scored as it might enable him to find another club easier and reduce our wage bill. The opposition, Peterborough, three away wins all season, conceded more than us this season - now that's bad, we need to keep things in perspective... I notice a few names are starting to fly around the forum, Bamba, Pearce and others that are obviously going to cost a pretty penny, I just hope we are not going to be left feeling down in the doldrums again by seeing a host of 34 year old freebies come through the door.
Morning Elland. Good result Saturday. Pity about the Taylor screw up. But he's young & will learn from it. Season long loan I suspect next season to help him develop. On letters, I suspect that Varynun & other people who haven't been appearing of late will be the first to get bye bye letters. I'm sure that any of the 16 involved in Saturday's game probably didn't get the dreaded bye bye letter. But if they did & are still required for remaining games, it'll give them the opportunity to put themselves in the shop window. Slightly better start to the week than last Monday. Blackpool on Tuesday. Let's hope we can put on a show & maybe finish somewhat higher than the previous two games prior to Saturday suggested we might.
Morning ell a letter in the post, its like exam results all over again It that the usual yearly thing with Leeds?
Morning Boggers. Varynun and Nunez have both been dissapointing. Think we were all expecting better things. Is Varynun out injured???
Morning Ristac, agree, Paynters goals will at least get him in the shop window. Warnock would not be with us unless Bates had promised some serious investments...
Morning all Ell, got your PM over the weekend but couldnt respond on my phone. Looks like everythings been resolved now. Mondays
Paynter's goals on Saturday suggest that he might still have a future at Leeds. The goals themselves weren't earth shattering, but at least he scored them. Me thinks he'll start tomorrow just to give him more game time. Who knows, he might just get a couple against Blackpool, which, after the Rachubka horror show earlier in the season, would go some way to evening up the score a bit. On Nunez, I think Warnock needs to find a place for him, possibly as an impact sub playing through the middle behind the front 2. He is clearly very skillful, but he's a bit lightweight as anything approaching a box to box Howsonesque midfielder. Not too much in the defensive midfield approach. Better going forward. On Varynun, don't know if he's injured or not. But he hasn't had much of a chance at ER, & if/when fit, who's place would he take?
Morning Bucks. We made quite an impact on the Aberdeen board 1am Saturday morning. There was me, OLOF, Millwall Steve, Alf, Bok and a few others. The guy who runs the Aberdeen board loved it.... I got a pm from him today....He wants us to invade again....
Possibly Elland. Someone else mentioned that. So unlikely he'll be going anywhere. That said, Warnock is certainly re-building for next season. So if he didn't fancy retaining Nunez, I'm sure Warnock would send him on loan or similar. I don't think he will, & I think Nunez will find a role for himself next season.
Sa1nts Honestly geezers with multiple accounts - thought OLOF was bad enough but this geezer's got stack load
