Morning All, Thought I'd do a Saturday thread, for all those that are not making the trips down to Pompey and Burnley respectively. Maybe the fans (fan in Millwalls case) that are making the journey can wave at each other as we pass on the motorway It is understood that Matt Mills is about to sign for Leeds til the end of the season....Mills, who joined City from Reading in a move that was initially worth £3.5million and is among the club's highest wage earners <gulp> Mills has been left in no doubt that he is no longer in the frame. He has fallen down the pecking order behind Sean St Ledger, Wes Morgan and Sol Bamba under Pearson. Caption competition...
Good morning... I am amazed that they are allowing him to leave to a rival, imagine we just manage to squeeze into the last play off spot beating Leicester by say 1 point, it would be the worst managerial decision Pearson has ever made.
Absolutely agree 100 percent, look at the defense now :- Lonnergan Smith White or Pugh Lees Mills Come on, must be one of the best defense (on paper) in the division...
I would still prefer the Leicester defence if I am honest but who knows, let us see what Warnock can get out of them...
Our problem over the last 3 or so years is :- i) Need to put the fear of God in the opposition at ER, and make it a fortress again. ii) Tighten up the defence
Guys on Sky Sports were saying yesterday that Warnock will look to bring in players that can handle the cauldron of Elland Road, they felt we have too many players that buckle under the home fans expectations and mentioned there being no hiding place when you make a mistake.
Lovin the Warnock Completely true though. If you're a footballer, you live and die by your results, if you buckle under pressure, you shouldn't be playing at that level
Well on par with lending you Gradel then selling him for rice. or perhaps loaning DJ Campbell to Blackpool and watching him score the goals to get them promotion? Come back Sven all is forgiven!!
Running_Fox, do I assume that all is not going according to plan with Pearson, giving the option, would you rather have Warnock?
i have pompey friends here in Italy but i still blame pompey for our relegation last time so kick their butts for me
To be honest I feel frustrated that Sven was sacked at a time when we were two points from the play offs. Yes he spent a lot of money but should have been given more time to put things right. From the outside its easy for opposing fans to laugh at Sven but he was a real Gentleman whose honesty was refreshing, never shirked a question or made excuses and raised our profile as a club. Now Pearson will get rid of any players with flair and produce a team like his own personality, boring and safe wont concede many but wont score many either.( bit like Hull although they can change now hes gone ) I will bet Beckford will go too at the end of the season.I need to stress this is my oppininion most Leicester fans love Pearson and his arogance. They forget were he wants players to fight for the shirt? When he was asked to fight for his job he ****** off!
Sorry I did not answer your question on Warnock? Well you know there are no dull times with him,and he has a track record of getting promotion so yes can we swop?
