Ok we lost but no shame in losing to a well organised Charlton side who will be in the mix come the end of the season. But for me I think that game has to be the last start for mr dyer, he can't cross or shoot, can get into decent positions but pretty pointless if there's no end product. He's been like this since signing for us and I cannot believe we still put up with it yet other players get slated - people need to get to the games and not listen to a certain ex Leicester Scottish twat who commentates - I've emailed lcfc today cancelling my foxes player subscription and told them reasons why. God to bring back the days of Walshy on radio Leicester. Anyway onwards and upwards - see you at Blackburn Saturday where hopefully we beat the chicken pluckers!!!
Dyer has always been like this though, torments defences with pace, but no end product, seems to have no composure at all. I dont mind Youngys comments tbh, he has to put up with alot of complaining, and he does it well.
Ok we lost. But if you listen to the fans that went? Including the Charlton fans we played well, and the result was more to do with missed chances. However I do feel we may have lost to the better Manager if not the better team. I think away from home we should fill the midfield and hit them on the break with pace. There long ball tactics would then just play into our hands.Danns is needed in the middle and Nugent should have started. Two out and out wingers away from home means that we get over run in midfield.Lets make sure we get at least a point at places like Charlton.
Just hope we are not following the pattern over the previous 2 seasons - win, lose, draw, win, lose, draw etc
Dyer is a useful player. During a season, he will go through patches of real form and then the total opposite. What i would say, when a game is goign completely wrong, there is little better in the league to bring on to change it.
Bit harsh to call somebody who always gave 110% when he pulled the Blue Shirt on, "a Scottish ****". I presume you were not around in 1979-1982, if Walshy was that good why has he never been asked back on the radio? Personally I think Youngy is one of the best so called "experts" that Radio Leicester has ever had. Football always creates different opinions, but Youngy has been through some tough times in life and come out the other end still smiling. He does not derserve a slagging off from somebody with a limited vocabulary and sense of reason
Since I have a limited vocabulary and sense of reason (even though you have never met me!) I think you are a twat with your reasoning & judgement. Seems Mr.Young has a certain agenda towards some players (One in particular) that makes him look and sound totally unprofessional, whereas others perform just as bad, if not worse but no comment from him?
Lloyd Dyer is still a very good player to have. I would prefer him lining up for us rather then against us. But he needs to be used more sparingly. With Knockaert, Marshall and Gallagher all capable of playing down either wing Dyer should be rotated alot more then he does Beckford is still a big problem and one I have had enough of. I hope Nigel just gets rid now. People forget he only scored 9 league goals past season and some people have their head so far up his arse its unbelieveable. Give me a worker like Nugent, Vardy, Waghorn, Hume or Fryatt over him.
I think they mentioned it on the radio, if Beckford was on in the second half and had any of the 3 good chances that we made, he would have scored 2 of them, Beckford is a goalscorer and will put away more chances than anyone else here at the moment. On the flipside, we created more chances without him tonight, but couldn't put them away, so with or without him, we would be scoring the same ammount.
Agree with the above - be interesting to see the team for saturday but andy king should be one of the first names on the team sheet, I think np and the rest of the coaching staff have realised tackling is one of his biggest weaknesses and have worked with him on this, got stuck in a few times sat and also last night. Hopefully he's finding the form of a couple of seasons ago as well as a bit more 'bite' to his play, Anyone got any idea when whitbread/ssl are back? As that will mean some changes to the subs bench
I don't know who said that. Beckford may have been playing better in pre-season and against Peterborough (opposition that will probably be relegated) but he still missed tons of chances. I certainly don't think the result would have been different if Beckford had stayed on. Regarding Alan Young v Steve Walsh on the radio, as much respect as I have for Walsh as a playing legend, his commentary lacked insight and realism. He basically expected Leicester to steamroll all the opposition without providing any real evidence that we were better than the opposition. In addition, he was a terrible self-publicist and used his commentary time to attempt to build support for himself to become Leicester manager, which I'm certain would have been a disaster. Youngy is a better all-round analyst and has previous managerial experience - I'm not saying he understands the game better than Walsh, but he can certainly communicate more clearly, which is want you what on the radio. Young does have agendas against certain players (Dyer and Beckford mainly) but he also has a point. I have going on about Dyer's end product since he first arrived and I'm sick of talking about it now. Beckford I've not entirely given up on, but neither I'm I willing to believe his "new player" tag just yet. I think he has until the January transfer window to convince.
Why do people keep saying Beckford "would score them" and "most natural finisher"? His finishing is one of his worst aspects since being at us!!
Footballs all about opinions mate, Youngy's got his, you have obviously got yours. That does not make him a ****, especially as he gave everything for the club in the 3 years he played for us. I think you'll find that those 3 years were the happiest of his career and thats why he cares about the club. That might be why (in your opinion) he oversteps the mark about certain players. I am guessing you mean Beckford and if so that's only because he is one of those players that divides opinions. In his heyday Youngy was just as good as Beckford (if not better). I think that means his opinion is just as valid as yours or mine and therefore don't warrant abuse - Simple
With my 'limited vocabulary and sense of reason' I think beckford on his day (which is few and far between) is our best chance of goals, unfortunately he's like worzel gummage - depends which head he's got on, forest in the cup he destroyed them whereas other games he looks disinterested. Youngy annoys me because he's not consistent - Gallagher for instance can do no wrong in his eyes despite performing one game in ten. Personally I couldn't care less if the strikers are sat on their arse all game as they a they put the ball in the back of the net - jury's still out whether beckford is the man to do this but with the right service I think he is the man but other options are available!!!!!
