I know I'll probably get slated for saying this but it's not before time IMO, we should have moved him on in the summer
I actually thought he was putting in some effort this season, but having read the reports on the Spurs game and watched the few minutes he had against Stoke, I'm of the opinion he won't ever be a premiership striker! We need goals so I'm pleased Hughton is looking into that side of things.
if he could replicate his form from the first half of last season he would be a good asset for us, but that does not appear to be a likely event. i remember a millwall fan saying, when we had just bought him, that he would play well for the first half of the season and then go off the boil. seems he may be right. in fact he was right, and obviously something that he, morison, needs to rectify.
I agree, don't think he is a Premier League striker, of what I've seen of him this year I think he's put more effort in and contributed more. If he was to move on fair enough, but we need a striker before we offload him or even try to offload him. I know that he could help fund the striker, but don't let it go ahead until we have a striker sorted. Look what Liverpool done with Carroll. Find it strange this story has come out no anyway, hope we've not said to him he is leaving in the summer as it will probably have an unsettling effect.
I remember how he bemused Swansea at CR last season and expected a lot more of him. Looks like the Millwall fans were right and feel that Jackson should be preferred to him when bringing on a sub, as at least he has the pace to worry tired defenders.
Would still love to see CMS here in Jan as well. Moro is just out of sorts at the moment, but we can't hang about until his form returns, if it ever does ?
I have my doubts that this story is true. 1. Why would CH let this come to light with two months to go till the January transfer window. 2. Over a tough Christmas schedule CH is going to need moro, why would he shatter his confidence now. 3. Strikers are usually hard to come by in the Jan window and at an inflated price. If there performing for there club, they are unlikely to come in Jan. Its quite plausible that we may have to wait for the summer. It just doesnt make sense to me, and i think its speculation, mixed with an eliment of truth. But i dont think he will go in January!!!
Can't see that happening, we've tried to sign him twice now, he doesn't want to come here that's pretty obvious!
I don't think it's the player doesn't want to come, it's down to Fry upping the price at the last min when at posh & the deal was left far to late to be done in August ? Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him in Jan.
He will cost more than we are likely to want to pay. As with Charlie Austin. If Rodriguez went for reportedly £7M then those two guys will be at least.
I really think we'll have to look abroad, the prices are just too high in the UK. There are teams prepared to pay the money they have for the likes of Rhodes, Rodriguez, etc, and we can't compete with that. Hopefully Chester can conjure up another Tettey.
Totally agree, the £7m the saints spent is looking like a bad deal for Rodriguez ATM. Think it is better to look abroad for more options. I think there is a lot of talent in europe that would cost us not only far less in transfer fees, but would also not demand silly wages.
.....it has been reported that reading are prepared to pay £15M for arshavin in january which would be a stupid move for a newly promoted team and certainly a case of putting all their eggs in one basket.
