Said on the TV news that we have activated the 1 year extension AND are in talks with his agent for a new contract.
So Wes must have known of this option when he publicly came out to highlight the situation a week or so back. So now he gets another year at current wages with an extension after that? Maybe he would have been better off saying nothing and a better deal worked out in the summer kicking in straight away unless that is part of the talks now?
Well I guess he'd just sign another contract if/when we get the longer-term one sorted, which will overwrite this one.
