We'll have about 800 going to this, all the 70's era plus will be very keen on this.

Morecambe v Charlton in the league! <monster>

There's a lesson here Mr Murray - don't employ Iain Dowie as you gaffer for f**ks sake <doh>

George Graham was interested in taking over. This came from Judas' trap at a Bromley SC meeting 3 weeks after Sir Alan left.
I was there and heard it first hand<yikes>

Looking forward to it. Another new ground to tick off and only the proper Charlton would go to Morecambe on a cold Tuesday November evening.

Been looking at some footage of Morecambe's star striker Cole Stockton. He looks a handful and has a good eye for goal. 12 goals for a team that is struggling is impressive. Looks very physical and I’d imagine that Jason Pearce would be an ideal match for him, but not sure if skipper will be playing. Maybe Famewo could look after him ?

In any case it might be wise ( :emoticon-0114-dull: sorry black and white one) for us to look at him in January. We could do with another striker.

TEAM NEWS | Gunter starts Morecambe clash

Chris Gunter will start tonight’s Sky Bet League One clash against Morecambe at the Mazuma Stadium (7.45pm) as Johnnie Jackson makes one enforced change.

The Welshman will skipper the side in club captain Jason Pearce’s absence, while there is a return to the matchday 18 for Deji Elerewe.

Craig MacGillivray continues in goal, with Gunter expected to operate at the heart of Jackson’s back-three alongside Sean Clare and Akin Famewo.

Diallang Jaiyesimi and Ben Purrington are likely to operate on either flank as wing-back roles with Alex Gilbey, George Dobson and Elliot Lee manning the midfield, behind a front two of Josh Davison and Conor Washington.

Elerewe is joined on the bench by Nathan Harness, Ben Watson, Albie Morgan, Charlie Kirk, Corey Blackett-Taylor and Mason Burstow.

Charlton: MacGillivray; Clare, Gunter (c), Famewo; Jaiyesimi, Gilbey, Dobson, Lee, Purrington; Davison, Washington

Subs: Harness, Elerewe, Watson, Morgan, Kirk, Blackett-Taylor, Burstow

    2-1 penalty

Stockton is a handful. Gunter is struggling with him - Pearce would have had him all day

    2 - 2 FT

    Disappointing. Two points dropped.
I know JJ is not an experienced manager, and I guess that showed tonight.

We should not be squandering a two goal lead.

Fatigue played its part tonight, Morecambe defended brilliantly and took their chances.

We lacked the quality to play through them or shoot from range. Morecambe packed the box so our crosses were delivered into traffic. We got into some great positions but took too many touches in their penalty area.

Morecambe were better in the air. No Stockley, Inniss, Pearce and Lavelle made sure of that.

Gunter, wrestling with Stockton and giving away the penalty, was stupid. It got Morecambe back into it and always gave them a chance from set pieces.
