Taarabt was out of favour at QPR prior to Hughesâ appointment as manager and the club had been open to offers for him for some time. But the new boss is quick to point out the 22-year-oldâs relative lack of experience and believes he can make him a better player. Hughes said: âIâm enjoying working with him. Heâs a very bright kid, heâs good around the place, and Iâve been really, really impressed with him. âI think thereâs more to come. With the right work and the right direction he could be more effective than he has been in the past. âItâs his first season in the Premier League and we want to make sure he improves year on year. I think with my and my staffâs help heâll be a better player.â Taarabtâs recent display against Wolves was an encouraging sign and belied his reputation for immaturity. With Rangers down to 10 men following the sending-off of Djibril Cisse he produced some of his best moments of the season â giving Hughes food for thought. âI was pleased because he took on responsibility and thatâs what you want from players,â Hughes explained. âHe understood the situation and that he had to really drive the game for us and thatâs what he did. âI like players who are able to understand whatâs going on and are able to take responsibility in a game. Some shy away from it but he certainly didnât.â http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/more-to-come-from-taarabt-says-qpr-boss/? TF and the board can spend all the money they want, Adel are, and will still be our best player by a country mile.
Music to me ol ears all that... he's come back from Africa looking surprisingly fit, and it shows in his performances. Mind you he was playing a lot better before Neil left in December, and if one or two of his shots that hit the aluminium had gone in at the beginning of the season, it could have been a whole different season for him, and us!
All true but i just wish he would get in the box more, every shot he has seems to be from outside the box.I want to see him taking on players in the box and winning us penalties or scoring himself just like last season. If he scores one i can see his confidence rocketing and him going on a little goal spree.
Me too Hammersmith! It was the reason I was pretty excited at the prospect of him playing up front with Zamora Saturday, but it didn't seem to work until he moved back later on. Hope he can get into the box from midfield, where as you say he can do more damage.
He has to play in midfield where he can attack from deep, I think he could replace SWP on the right and be effective with the freedom to come into the middle and interchanging with Barton going wide so there is fluidity of movement. Having Diakite protecting the back four would give the attack more impetus, I'm feeling more optimistic hearing this...
