More than just a coincidence?

I always thought that if something or someone goes against you: -

    Once - unlucky
    Twice - coincidence
    Three times - hmmmmm
Four times - this needs looking into

Therefore, what do the following four matches have in common as well as the fact that we lost and weren't at our best for these games: -

    Wednesday 17th August 2011 v. Brighton at home - lost 3 - 1
    Saturday 4th February 2012 v. Blackpool at home - lost 3 - 1
    Tuesday 6th November 2012 v. Charlton away - lost 5 - 4
    Tuesday 19th February 2013 v. Brighton at home - lost 2 - 0

    Any ideas?

Let me tell you, a certain person by the name of Keith Stroud. He was the referee in all 4 games.

Overall, he wasn't bad last night other than he refused to make positive decisions at critical moments. There were a few shouts for penalties, in particular a handball in the first half, the foul on Bellers and possibly one on Campbell in the second half.

From where I was sat I couldn't make a judgement either way although the fans in the Canton/Grandstand corner, Bellers and Malky all thought the Bellers incident should have been a pen and possibly a second yellow for the defender.

However, if I was in any sort of authority and if clubs have a say in such matters, i wouldn't want Mr. Stroud anywhere near any future games of ours. I'm not saying he is dishonest but at the least he is a bloody jinx we can well do without.

If I have time later I will look at previous seasons' programmes in my attic and see if he has any history with us prior to these 4 games.

Not wishing to cast doubts for Sunday but in the earlier 3 games above, the best we have done in the next game is draw (against Burnley after Brighton last year).

While I'm not big into conspiracy theories I have found another little item on Mr. Stroud.

Go back to January 2011, away game at Norwich, Jon Parkin's debut and a cracking goal from him (the only league goal he ever scored for us I think). In what minute of added time did Norwich get their equaliser? Wasn't it the 6th or 7th minute or something like that and we were all scratching our heads as to why so much time had been added?

Probably just pure chance but why is it that when Mr. Stroud refs our games that bad things happen to us and we appear to get no luck and decisions go against us?

We may have similar issues with other refs but this one stands out for me. 5 games in 3 seasons, only 1 point and that one could well have been 3.

Who asked a Swan? Nothing to do with them. Crawl back under your stone Phyllis or better still go back to your own board.
