http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/internet/9192366/Cameron-gets-tough-on-raunchy-videos.html An age rating on music videos and websites. What a completely unworkable idea for websites and a pointless idea for music videos. They would be able to impose ratings on UK based websites but what about all of the non UK based sites over which they have no jurisdiction? Plus it has been tried in the US and failed completely. Music videos shown on TV already have to comply with broadcasting rules and any uncut versions are already marked as 'explicit' so what would an age rating achieve? Perhaps, Mr Cameron, you should concentrate on getting the economy back on track and stop with the stupid nanny state pipe dream.
It might be the biggest doss in the world..."No haven't sorted your laptop yet, gonna take another couple of months".
It just seems like a throwaway soundbite from Cameron to be honest, more than likely to appease his daily mail reading voters. But in practice how workable is it? How raunchy exactly is too raunchy? And how are music videos any worse than what already goes out pre-watershed? Also, its an out of date notion. 10-15 years ago it would have been more relevant but the fact is kids these days don't watch so many music videos now.
I read the Daily Mail website every day*, it doesn't appease me. *I know it's a rag but it's got more to read than any other.
Even as a tory voter, i cannot see how this works for the benefit of anyone, and i can't see how it can be enforced. Like Sam said, the PM should stick to the economy, rather than fannying around with something that probably doesn't need doing.
You criticise me for being too pro-tory, i take a balanced view and you still criticise. For gods sake, make your damn mind up.
