Heidi, if possible could you tell us how you felt both during and after that night ? Watching at home as an 11 year old it's the first and only time I've cried whilst watching a football match.
When Lorimer's goal went in the first thing I did was look to the linesman to the right of us and he and the ref had both awarded a goal. I was on the upper tier front row and my flag stick can be seen on the photo above with the blue panel to the right of the clock so had a perfect view of the goal. When he changed his mind it was unbelievable and that's when everything changed on an evening which up until then had been so perfect. At the end of the game I was absolutely gutted and cried alot and I admit I hit my seat with my stick once but then realised it wasn't the thing to do. It was the fact we knew we were robbed of the cup that was the worst thing especially when the rumours hit that the ref had been bribed just like the one in Salonika. I'll never forgive or forget being robbed of our rightful trophy.
