Saw Jonas & Taylor speaking on Sky Sports. Carver is an absolute disgrace in telling them they were being released when they were on a training course in Ireland. Didn't he have the guts to tell them face to face, I'd have kept Jonas for one more year, probably only as a squad player. Ashley should remember, Jonas sealed the clubs survival and saved the club a fortune in lost revenue and TV exposure for the SD brand. That alone should have been rewarded.
Newcastle prove once again NO CLASS at the club.

To be fair to Carver, I don't think he had much to do with the decision to release them or how to tell them. I think the finger should be pointed at Rolando's mate Charnley for this one.

He's such a cancerous little tw@. Over reaching, ponderous, incompetent fookwit. How the fckity fck someone of Ashley's wealth employs something like him is a Bergerac-class mystery. Derby County are living up a world class appointment, and Charnley is busy ringing fcking players to tell them they are released whilst allowing the club to pedal made up stories. Ashley is bad, but he only owns the ship, the baboon he's got steering it makes kinnear look like SBR.

There are 3 things and 3 things along that can save Ashley.....in my opinion

    1. Get rid of Charnley, Carver and every ****er else that was given an 8 year contract
    2. Appoint football people in these roles and make some reasonable attempts at finding a decent manager
    3. Give the new manager some money to spend and a reasonable say in what goes on transfer wise

That is the only way that I can see anyone believing anything that came out of his fat ****ing pie munching mouth when he agreed to a staged skysports interview.

I don't necessarily have a problem with Ashley owning the club per se, he came across as a bit of a thick cockney **** in his interview if you ask me. If you buy a football club and you know **** all about football, then the least you can do is surround yourself with football people. Not ****ing lawyers, accountants, potty mouthed gambling buddies and ****ing arse lickers. He needs people to tell him how it is even if he doesn't like it. He could make so much more money out of us its unreal....and we wouldn't give a **** in the grand scheme of things as long as we got our Saturday afternoons back, enjoyed going to games because we were watching footballers giving 110% for the shirt week in week out and earning their ****ing wages.

He's an intelligent business man, all he needs to realise is that if he gives us what we want, which isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things, and not beyond the expectations of pretty much every football fan....that he will ultimately get what he wants....fat wads of mooooolah !!

Newcastle United should just employ Tony Pulis and be done with it.

Mid-table mediocrity and no chance of relegation.

Ryan Taylor was told he was being let go by Newcastle in a phone call from John Carver, who then asked the player to pass the phone to Jonas Gutierrez so the Toon boss could tell him too.

United secured their Premier League status on the final day of the season.

"John Carver rang me and told me the club weren't going to offer me a new deal," Taylor told Sky Sports News.
"So I had a chat with him and then he asked me to pass the phone to Jonas, which was unbelievable."
The defender added: "He was made to do it, he obviously was upset in doing it.
"I spoke to him and he seemed upset about telling two good pros who have been there a long time that it's come to an end.
"I can't really blame John because he's under instructions on what to do."
Taylor, 30, had a six-year spell at St James' Park severely disrupted by two serious knee injuries.
Midfielder Gutierrez, 31, who had been at the Tyneside club since 2008, made a comeback this season after recovering from testicular cancer.
The Argentine scored in a 2-0 win over West Ham as Newcastle avoided relegation in their last league game of the campaign.
The pair are currently in Belfast at a coaching course.
"I didn't expect to get offered a new contract but it's not about that, you have to move on," said Gutierrez.
"The more important thing is that they can pick up a phone and call me or call my agent and say 'listen, thank you for everything, we are going to release you'."

It's utterly vile the way they treat these two.
Not long ago they were literally giving Ranger chance after chance yet go and do something like this.
This isn't Charnley lads, it's Fat Mike.
    I know this 100%.
A friend was on their board when Fatty sacked Allardyce (yes Fatty).
He called the staff to order in an open plan office, put his feel up on the desk then rang Sam and said 'you're sacked- speak to Chris (Mort)', smiled then put the phone down.
All that crap about it being Charnley in charge is bullshit.
Mike micro manages his top team and literally pulls their strings. Charnley is nothing more than a bullet proof vest for him.

If we apply the same logic as we do to Blatter, and wider commerce in general..... in that ultimately it is the man at the top responsible for the actions of his subordinates then the buck firmly stops with Fat Mike.

Of course it's Ashley making the decisions.
As you say Charnley is nothing more than a bullet proof vest for him.

Back on topic, treatment likes this gets around in football, and it's why we'll never get a coach that aspires too much and should be grateful that the likes of Pardew or McClaren if it's him, are willing to stick their head in the hornets nest.

    The club have responded....

This is taken from the mag..

Last night we brought you news of astonishing claims by Jonas Gutierrez that Newcastle United had invented quotes from Fabricio Coloccini, the comments attributed to the Newcastle Captain regarding Jonas, being published on the official club website yesterday.
Using his Twitter account, late on Monday night Jonas Gutierrez claimed he’d been in touch with his friend Coloccini (the ‘quotes’ can be seen below) who had said they were ‘untrue’.
Jonas commenting on Twitter on Monday night:
“The coments that coló has supposed to have said about me to nufc are un true i have spoken to him about this matter.”
Newcastle United Managing Editor Anthony Marshall has now responded on behalf of the club with the following on Tuesday morning, once gain on Twitter:
“Just to clarify, I interviewed Colo after the final game on a range of issues, including Jonas. I still have the recording on my dictaphone.”
Last night’s drama had followed a joint appearance by both the Argentine midfielder and Ryan Taylor on Sky Sports on Monday afternoon, where it was said they believed John Carver had been forced to tell them they weren’t needed any more over the phone.

Taylor saying Carver was upset at what he’d been forced to do and that Jonas was given his news only when Carver asked Taylor to pass him the phone!
The ‘quotes’ the club published from Coloccini earlier today:
“Jonas has been a great player for Newcastle and someone who has given everything for the Club.
“He was here for seven years and that is a long time to be with one team. But this is football and life continues, and I am sure he will do well wherever his next club is.
“The fans here love him because in the worst days he was still here. Jonas stayed at the Club in its worst days – when we went down – and he helped get us straight back up again.
“I am very proud of him for that moment.
“In my opinion, one of the biggest reasons we stayed in the Premier League this season was because Jonas was on the pitch in the final game.
“Scoring in front of the Gallowgate End in his last game for the Club was perfect.”

My assumption is that the line I have put in bold was the one which Jonas Gutierrez possibly took exception to in particular, with Coloccini apparently saying in the quote that it was only a natural thing that Jonas was being dumped.
As to what the truth is, making the conversation available for fans to listen to would surely clarify the situation. failing that, it would of course be interesting to hear Coloccini’s opinion on what was, and wasn’t, said.
What a way to fill a summer….must be pretty boring supporting a club who simply get on with appointing a manager and signing players!

I agree with all of this - apart from one thing. It might seem like I'm splitting hairs, but this is what we need to save our club not Ashley. Ashley is in no danger and doesn't need saving. No matter what we do he is untouchable for as long as he wants to be untouchable. Good points tho about what he needs to do to save the club. Let's hope he does!
