In a piece about how thick he was to leave Luke Hyam out last season, PJ or KJ as I now call him (knob jockey) says this.

“So, you’ve got to keep fighting for yourself. Luke’s done that and he’s an example to all the young players – or even the older players or more experienced players as we call them now as we haven’t got any older players – that it’s never too late.

"While you’re here and you’re training every day, you’ve always got a chance to impress me.”

That is, unless you're Jaime Peters.

Hampy, have to say that management is all about opinions, PJ has seen Jaime in training everyday if he isn't impressed then why should he play him? Is he a championship standard winger? in my opinion no. is he a championship standard full back? again no.

the last sentence said it all, JP hasn't impressed in training so he doesn't get a starting place, would you start someone who hasn't impressed during training?

Luke Hyam is an example to follow, when he first came here PJ probably didn't know a lot about him, probably didn't rate him, but he must have worked hard got his chance due to injuries and has impressed so he is rewarded with starts and hopefully a new contract.

Finally I think the penny has dropped for Jewell regarding Luke Hyam. He is about to be offered a new contract extension and about bloody time too!

    What Guru said.
I cant believe anybody can get upset by a post by the boss that has basically said 'I will never right you off as long as your attitude and aptitude is there'
When he fell out with Martin over attitude everyone kicked up a fuss, that didnt last long and he is now one of our better players. Hyam was on the side lines for long periods but has now been given a chance and is looking good. A similar picture with Carson who came back last summer without having kept to his pre season 'routine' but again has worked his way back into the first team.
I can imagine the furore on these pages if Jewell had said 'annoy me once and your out of the door' yet he says the opposite and you still whinge.

Peters didn't impress any of his managers whilst out on loan in lower leagues, it would be interesting to see where he goes after this, can't see him going to another Championship team or even a league 1 side. Really not disappointed with this decision, clearly hasn't been impressing in training and never held down a starting place in all his years here.

He played out of his skin against Arsenal and that's the last we ever saw of him. I don't think he's a winger but with his pace, I would've played him off the striker. With all the crap that's gone through our dressing room over the last five years im sure it would've been worth trying him there.

Personally I would disagree, but taking away my view I cant see him pushing past Martin, Stevenson, JET, possibly Murray and Scotland (who often plays deeper when on the pitch with Chopra) for that position.
I wouldnt call him a bad player, in fact I think he done a decent enough job for us at times but I dont think, at his current age, that he can be called a player that can really take us forward to the next level.

I'm leaning towards Hampy slightly. As John Lennon said, "Give Peters a chance"

Everybody needs to get this Peters business in the right context. Look he was a very honest player, a trier, who endeared himself to the crowd, he had pace, so he could get about the pitch well. However his marking, despite his pace was very poor, and his general interpretation and reading of the game, is amongst the worst I have ever seen at this level. None of the Ipswich managers who he played under, ever gave him an extented run in the team, and when he went out on loan to lower league clubs, he never played regularly for them either. This must surely tell you something, its hard to see for all the managers he played for, that all of them can be wrong. There is no sentiment in professional football, nor should there be, perhaps its time for people to drop it, and look at situations in a more objective way.

    " I don't think he's a winger but with his pace, I would've played him off the striker. "

You would play Peters in the hole off the striker!?!??! Are you on drugs? Seriously, did you just write that.......? Thank god your not the manager is all I can say.

Four managers have hardly played him. Bournemouth sent him back from a loan spell. He is pretty damn useless, lets be honest....... he has had countless chances and literally done nothing over a prolonged period of time. Granted, he's had probably 10 good games for us. I really don't think a player who is good 1 game in 8 is really worth bothering with!
