I'm not going to defend one or the other. I suspect both Pardew and Ben Arfa have behaved in a very childish manner. Ben Arfa is quite narcissistic and selfish, and old fashioned Pards isn't really the type of manager who will extract the talent from him, so when Ben Arfa likely turned around and gave an arrogant and confrontational reaction to Pardew's decisions, Pardew has just said enough's enough.

Really, with the team playing as it is, I would want my players to be angry and passionate and prepared to tell me what they thought, but the old English way is totalitarian and Alan is not going to give Ben Arfa any leniency, especially when he's not really earning leniency on the pitch at present.

I am quite pleased with a lot of what Ben Arfa says in that interview (though I suspect a hidden agenda at whipping up fan power to oust Pardew and get a more Ben Arfa friendly manager installed), but actions speak louder than words.

Yes, Pards shouldn't question HBA's words or actions.

 

Interesting to see HBA used the words - I'm Fit.
I can only assume the newspaper has quoted him wrong and he actually said - I'm Fat.

I'm sick of the pair of them and the quicker they both f*** off elsewhere the better.

 

Not many would argue with that.

Two individuals when what we need is team players.

 

Everyone deserves to be shown some appreciation and from my point of view Pardew at least did level the playing field somewhat between Sunderland and Newcastle

I think he's remarkably respectful here. It may not be 100% accurate, but he's clearly chosen his words carefully. Why should he not be allowed his say considering how much bollocks Pardew spouts on a weekly basis?

 

Pardew is slated for the bollocks he spouts. HBA is being slated for the same reason.

As for being respectful, he is clearly rolling flirting eyes at MA on the assumption Pardew will be gone.

 

Pardew's the only one allowed to spout bollocks.

 

So long as he doesn't keep sprouting bollocks. That would get ugly.

 

At this point I'd probably give MA more than flirting eyes if it meant him sacking Pardew.
