Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, although he is expected to make a full recovery.

    And

Brian Johnson of AC/DC has been told by Doctors to stop performing live immediately or risk being left permanently deaf.

As a result AC/DC have postponed their rest of their current North American tour while a replacement singer is found to complete the shows sometime later this year.

My guess is that they'll see out the tour and may then very well call it a day as a live band. Shame. They have always been an awesome band whether with Bon Scott or Brian Johnson at the front, and BJ himself always comes across as a total gentleman.

I was REALLY tempted to go and see ACDC this year, but I couldn't justify it - I'll stick with ELO for now!

I know what you mean. At the turn of the year I was already down for seeing Motorhead, Graham Bonnet, ELO, Rainbow and Joe Bonamassa in 2016 and am already having to forego Wilko Johnson and ZZ Top.

It might be too late for us both to see AC/DC now after todays news...

could not hear for about a week afterwards. Oh happy days, long gone.

At least Iron Maiden are relative youngsters compared to AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Rainbow etc. They ought to come around a few more times yet. At least let's hope so.

Never thought AC/DC were the same without Bon Scott...

BJ does indeed come across as a proper nice bloke but to my ear, he screeches whereas Bon just had that nature quality to his voice. Despite the obvious choices, "Touch Too Much" is by far my favourite track by the band...

Watch ACDC at the River Plate if you want to see a mental crowd.
Fear the band may now have come to its end, thanks for the memories.

Emerson (left) was a founding member of Emerson, Lake and Palmer in 1970

I also remember him in the group 'Nice' in 1967, I'm getting fed up of all these great artists leaving us..

RIP mate, you gave me a lot of good listening... A good Yorkshire fella..<rose>

Listened to Thunderstuck again last night, now that is a guitar riff to be be played loud and angry as well.

What with Malcolm's illness plus BJ I think it's the end of the road for DC now.

For those who enjoy some mean guitar riffs
