We have to hold on to him until at least January. If we are safe at that point - then we have time to find a replacement. Selling now would be suicide.

Given that Sterling went for £50 million I've voted in the £40 million+ bracket.
Can't see him going, he's far to important, unless we swap him for Muller :)

I know he is receiving rave reviews but tomorrow I'm expecting Real Madrid to mentioned as being interested!

He has had 2 good/exceptional games this year, last season he was great but spent plenty of time out injured. Don't expect him to be going anywhere. however, if he keeps up his current form until the end of the season, he will be on his way to bigger things.

I guess you will remember the 3-2 game last year, your team had a poor performance but Montero was subbed on and changed the game, he reminds me of that kid at school that would run rings around everyone but years later you discover hes working in macdonalds, yet Montero is one of the few that actually made it!

It referes to a piece written on the tz.de a sports web-site in Germany

    Rough translation
" Jefferson Montero : The 25 -year-old Ecuadorean played for a year at Swansea City on the left wing.
Montero also has experience in the Primera Division with Betis Sevilla, (Don't think this is correct, Villarreal I thought).
The left footed Ecuadorian has made 30 appearances in the premier league (has he?), with one goal and seven assists to his name. (I'm pretty sure these stats are inaccurate too)
His contract at Swansea will run until 2018, his market value is 5.5 million euros (They can't be serious).
He excited internationally at last years World Cup, and drew a lot of attention with VfB Stuttgart also interested.
Monteros numbers are not great, never the less he can be molded as a player, something Pep Guardiola knows all about, see Juan Bernat"

Also highlighted were Kingsley Coman, Felipe Anderson, Pedro, Antoine Griezmann, Yacine Brahimi, with a caveat at the end of the piece stating
"Bayern probably have many other players on their list..........the board has time to time to improve an already luxurious squad " or something like that anyway.

So, I wouldn't worry about any links with Bayern.

Also, according to reports referring to twitter activity, Man U fans are apparently screaming out for our Jeff too. Go to their forums and he's not even mentioned.

I didn't vote because there is no 'priceless' range to vote for.

Saw him in a pre season friendly at the Liberty, playing for Real Betis, both my mate and I thought he looked a danger for all the time he was on. I think he was on loan from Villareal.

No team will pay stupid money after just 2 games, We may get add ons if he can perform the same for a bigger club but history shows they seldom do. We wont get much more than £10m as it stands so we would be foolish to sell him and i hope we dont for now until we can increase his value and that depends on playing the same standard and staying injury free.....

If we were offered Montero or Sterling, I'd take Montero every time - therefore he should be in at least the same price bracket as him.
£50M is obviously too much, but Sterling is also nowhere near that value - it's just that's what it cost Man City to buy him.

Reading that, I get the sense that we are once again on the verge of something very special with this group of players and Garry's guidance. He's comes across far more confident and dare I say it, expectant with the squad he and Huw have built.

I think we will break the points record this season <cheers>

I couldn't agree more valley, it's a good sign when you feel we don't need to make any more signings!

I think we may have got the balance in this team just right. Our main objective for the rest of this window will be to keep hold of every player.

Agree with Swan and Only, plus, if we can consolidate our position this year say A Europe spot with our cash reserve and profile we should be able to continue to attract and hold onto talent !

Didn't vote because I don't know and didn't fancy a guess. Comparisons with Sterling are understandable but whereas both players can beat a man you can't deny that Sterling has goals in his game and Montero as yet hasn't shown that. As I've said before if he starts scoring watch his value soar.
