The countdown continues
Monday today,
My fingers are crossed
That those who´re away,
With England and Scotland
And also with Wales,
Won´t be returning back
As injured males

It does seem a strange time
For these games to be,
Arranged only days
Before starting the spree,
Those in the know
Do sometimes know what´s best,
But surely we could
Have done without these tests

But then the national teams
Rate very low,
With me, I´m afraid
What goes on at Carrow,
Is more to the point
And where my preference lays,
And no-one really needed
These wasted days

But one advantage
Is if Ruddy picks,
His first England cap up
For guarding the sticks,
Then when the sun bakes
Down on his bald pate,
He should avoid sunstroke
While he stands and waits...

...and watches, as our
New look defence this year,
Show meanness that would
Make old Scrooge even cheer,
And if that is wishful
Thinking, then I beg,
Forgiveness, as I hop here
From leg to leg

Awaiting what this new
Season has to bring,
And who will end the year
As Carrow Road king,
Holty again maybe
Or maybe not,
What matters the most
Though, is keeping our spot. OTBC

Hi RBF, never seen the point of friendlies this close to the big kick-off, because they are a step up from club matches, players tend to exert themselves without really being ready, sure-fire recipe for injury!

Hopefully JR's had his injury training for the Euros, it does seem likely he will play! Good luck John, and stay safe!

Great poem as ever RBF
What idiot would organise a friendly this week? Utterly pointless as Dave has said with the only possible outcome being negative.

As I said THURNBY, I´m keeping everything crossed this week, wouldn´t fancy losing any of our lads that are away, even for a few weeks. I don´t quite remember, but didn´t they do something similar in the week up to last season´s start too? <doh>
