4.00 Towcester - small fancy for Jolly Boys Outing who has his ground for the first time this season and won this race last year on similar ground.

Noseda 3yo at Lingfield will surely hack up. Johnny Murtagh over to ride this one. About 1/3 lol. HENDOS in the bumper today is bigger than evens which surprises me so for fun he would be my selection of the day

Afternoon, people. Nothing for me today but it will be most interesting to see how the latest offspring of Fiddling The Facts, (high class racemare who was a Grade 1 winner and would have won the Grand National had Mick Fitzgerald not fallen off her) Mr Henderson’s Follow the Facts, fares in the ‘lucky last’ at Towcester (5.30). Has the potential to be a good ‘un but current quotes of 15/8 don’t inspire this particular correspondent.

Meanwhile, I would urge, and I do mean urge, people to closely have a look at the rules of the newly launched ‘Fillies Jockeys Championship’ (surely political correctness gone totally mad, incidentally, as the winner of this gets £5k and the winner of the overall ‘Jockeys Championship’ receives no financial reward whatsoever!) as it would appear that those bookie chappies either haven’t read them or are putting unwarranted faith in Turner. The odds of 33/1 re Amy Ryan are perhaps the most ridiculous since Pegasus started at odds-against on his debut. In my opinion she should be no bigger than 3’s.

Nass, have you read the rules??? It’s not won by who rides the most winners. The top prize goes to the filly who rides 30+ winners (so whether she rides 30 or 330 is immaterial) and has the best strike rate.

This to my eye totally rules out Cathy Gannon (as her strike rate is very low due to her riding a lot of bad horses) and leaves it between Turner and Amy Ryan only. Last term there strike rates were Turner 16%, Amy 15%, Gannon 9%.

No way should Turner be 1/4 and Amy Ryan 33/1. Its bonkers in my book.

Amy Ryan only rode 16 winners on the turf last year (27 in total)

Not Much today so going with this treble

Jolly Boys Outing, Choc Du Chadron and Follow the Facts at Towcester and a small each way at Lingfield on Nothings Simple.

Choc Du Chadron is the nap in the 4.30 <ok>

Yep, but don’t forget that she was banned for 28 days during the peak summer period, last year, when you can guarantee that she would have added several winners to that total (that was a total miscarriage of justice by the way). Has also since then started riding for a few more trainers and may come in for some additional Northern mounts following the defections of Hanaghan and De Sousa to the Maktoum ranks. Seriously, if Amy Ryan rides 30+ winners this year she’s got as good a chance as anyone in the competition and I think 33/1 is exceptional given the fact that really she's only got 1 rival (as stated above I think Cathy Gannon has no chance on the strike rate element).

    Hello lads.

    Nice start Red.

Nothing for me today on the old punting front again..only had one small e/w all weekend.

Great performance from Tiger at Arnord Palmers tournament at Bayhill...the shock resulted in poor old Arnie being rushed to hospital!

Right, off to get some lumpwood for barby.Spatchcocked corn fed bird with vegetable skewers and a big bottle of ice cold Chablis.

    GL all.
