1:30 Plumpton BRANDON THOMAS 10-1 Paddy Power. Form when splitting Highrate and Milano Magic last season reads extremely well in the context of this very average race. That earned him a handicap rating of 103 which he has been unable to cope with but following his latest effort he has now been dropped to a miserly 81. The handicapper dropped him 1lb shy of a stone for his last run and under conditions that have seen him to good effect in the past he has to be given a superb chance and is a tasty each way punt tomorrow.

Ron, you need a point on KIND OF EASY in that too mate. NIGHT OF PASSION will take some beating but Lavelles horse is fairly treated back handicapping in hurdles!

After all the speculation yesterday it turns out that Daryl Jacob didn't want to ride Big Bucks. Wonder if that is actually true.

I think you are right stick. Unreliable jumper but back over hurdles where his best Timeform rating was 118+ at Exeter in heavy going almost 2 years ago (his last hurdle run before being sent chasing). He has a ? now but if he were to reproduce that Exeter form (without allowing for the improvement that was expected) he would come into this race on an adjusted Timeform rating of 128+ (cf Night of Passion 125+). Added to that his highest (unadjusted) rating during his chasing stint was 121+ in heavy going at Fontwell in October over 22f with a comment "for all he has the ability to rate higher, he is unlikely to get away with such lapses in better races". A reproduction of that form (againg not allowing for any improvement) would put him in this race with an adjusted Timeform rating of 131+.

He's had one run back over hurdles, over much shorter and apparently lost a shoe.

The big question is whether he will stay the extra distance (bred to prove best short of 3m).

He is potentially well in here so either they are confident he will get the distance or they want one more run under his belt before they clean up over a shorter distance.

I think I'll take your advice and have a 1 point saver but will have to reduce my stake on the fav.

    Revised bet therefore (current odds):

    Plumpton 15.30

Night Of Passion (9/4 WH & PP) - 6 points
    Rocky Bender (7/1 Coral & WH) - 1 point
    Kind Of Easy (9/1 B365) - 1 point

    <cheers> stick

No, not real money Bob, You know the advice, don't bet what you can't afford to lose. All money tied up with our own horses.

I certainly look but don't dare touch, many times.

Wow, how hard is the years Cheltenham becoming??? I can see Willy cleaning up in all of the major races bar one, where Silv C will win the gold cup!!! Now to more depressing matters :)

    1.00- Uhlahn Blue
    1.30- Join The Navy

    3.20 WHampton- Cry Fury

Win Double on the Plumpton runners and an E/W Treb. I have started picking my selection by those that are top weight by 5 pounds or more and with no claimer on their back. So far its running okay.

    Any Thoughts???

I will be watching Cry Fury with interest Boil as that horse looked seriously progressive at one point only to disappoint. I note he has been sold by the Prince and picked up by Gary Moore. The market will no doubt tell you everything about its chances tomorrow. My initial feeling is that the connections will be testing the water with him first up making my own fancy for the race Scottish Star.

bluesky et al- johnson runs two gelded horses at lingfield today--Crowdmania and Blue Wave--if this makes them more 'amenable@ then they both must have great chances--stable starting to hit winter form--joe fanning back --whats not to like !

May as well throw up my attempts today too! Try to continue the luck! All placed last night.

    Singles:
Mr David 2.10 Wolves 9/4 - obvious reasons! missed it last time out at 14s, I've learned my lesson.

Prince of Burma 12.15 7/2 - to start the day with Kirby in flying form I'm hopeful h can get this boys head back in front again finally

The usual Treble- taken very short prices this time:
    Bretherton 2.50 lingfield 8/11
    Uhlan Bute 1.00 Plumpton evens
    Toubeera 2.30 Plumpton 4/5

Will probably have a stab at a lucky 15 if I get a chance to look again

    Good luck all!

FREDDY Q looks interesting in the first at Plumpton. Higher rating on the flat than any of the others with flat form, ran in a very strong race first time over hurdles (won by Betfair hurdle favourite IRVING)

20/1 looks enough for me to get involved in a an each way punt...
