So, we have the league cup runners up at home to Chelsea, the derby della Lanterna (derby of Genoa...) and the baby Wear/Tyne derby. It saddens me that as well as having the City match on the TV, I also have in shrunken laptop images games at Genoa, Empoli v Palermo (massive game between top 2 of Serie B) and Guimares v Nacional in Portugal (it's on my bet...). Anyway, the main feature is re City v Chelsea, Chelsea containing City very, very well by strangling midfield and attacking them at pace when required, but keeping shape. It's interesting, City, for me, always look a bit less without Aguero, so hopefully he misses the final (but not too many games as I love watching the lad..) The u21's just finished, 2-0 the (young) lads at the SOL
Yep, Mourinho always gets the big games right, I think Pellegrini needs to keep Silva in the middle, they haven't been a threat. Hazard, he is just a superb footballer that lad.
Absolutely bizarre front 2 in the Palermo side, the skilful and fantastically talented potential Gus target, Uruguay international Able Fernandez alongside, erm, Kyle Lafferty. No surprise to say it's not working out for them. EDIT As if by magic, Lafferty scores, I now need a City comeback for my bet, a 5 fold at 86/1. So, come on you Blue mooning ****ers.
Think we should be looking at this as City are NOT world beaters and in fact should be 2 or 3 down here to Chelsea. We aren't Chelsea of course but if you take the game to them (City) they are not as slick and powerful and we must do this at Wembley. We really have to have a go. Its the worst I've seen Negredo play and he hasn't got a sniff (subbed now) and Aguero will not be match fit in time for the final. Its a chink in their armour which I'm sure Gus will be looking at.
Chelsea have bossed it, but let's be realistic here, Chelsea are a 5-star side themselves. Not as if they are losing to Hull or some ****.
We always find a way at the SoL, so we have hope. Get in their faces, keep them out of their stride, we have a reasonable chance. They'll still be red-hot favourites, but...
Of course they are but my point about putting them on the back foot holds for anyone. We are not Chelsea but we have a bit of pace these days on the break and some hard tackling workers in the middle. This could still end up a draw though as Chelsea have not taken the many chances they have created and City have plenty of match winners still.
John terry post match was awesome. He said "City are not invincible, they can be beaten" and laid the gauntlet down.. We play them in a couple of weeks don't we?? Let's prove JT right
