3:50 Speed Demon 11/2 All about the switch of yards for this one. Richard Phillips has had a woeful time (6% strike rate) and this horse is one that has rocketed down the weights since moving from Ireland. He now moves to Dan Skelton (10 winners in last two weeks) and he is a trainer who is prolific first time out with horses moving to the yard (nearly 30% strike rate and a £40 to £1 stakes profit). He reaches for the tongue tie, and from a mark of 92 he looks thrown in on old form. Thrown in I tell you. Add in the perfect ground, and trip and he is a very confident selection.
Nass - did you know Sir Barney Chuckles really rates Dan Skelton and thinks Harry is such a lovely lad?
I listen intently to Barneys tips....then lay them on Betfair for huge profits. Never fails. Fair Eva was todays big lay....cheers.
barney is often entertaining , apart from with heiss , and he does have winning runs sometimes , i recall a treble a while back , but his humour may not touch all , but I like it !
I enjoy Barney's posts and his love affair with Nicky 'The Needle' Henderson always puts a smile on my face
Agreed Bob - Barney like all the contributors adds to the diversity of background , epicurean preference . Political hue , royal fervor and racing opinion that makes this the Top - yes the top forum - let's embrace all and vilify none - but most of all enjoy the banter that these diversities bring . Off for a lie down now - keep smiling everyone and please send winners for Chester this coming Thursday please ?
Didn't mean to be negative on carrots either, but not long ago I did badly cut a finger trying to slice the bloody things thinly, too thinly I guess.....
It's that time of the year again. http://www.chester-races.co.uk/racing/boodles-ladies-day 3 days to go!!! We may be really lucky again and the rain will stay away ( the forecast is good, at the mo ). Questions, questions, questions.... What will we see for the Chester Vase, dominated by "Listen" O'Brien in recent years and by US Army Ranger last year? Will there be a new Mehmas on show? My pick of last year's day out ( and quickly disappeared off the scene to stud, much to my chagrin ) Will The Nortonizer figure in the winners enclosure? Will Dr Koukash get any winners at all? Will I go purple, blue, or ( gulp ) pink? My excitement is in complete overdrive, what with TRFC getting to Wembley in the National League Play Offs too! So the challenge now is to find some winners to boost the pot for Thursday ... Let's start with Alpha Tauri in the 2.10 at Southwell.
