    Hello, crew. Hope everyone well.

Much earlier in the 2024/25 NH campaign I did a piece about the NH Trainers Championship odds and thought, today, I'd have a look at how the market has changed since that point.

So here goes the current odds are - 6/4 (was 9/4) WP Mullins, 7/4 (was 5/2) Dan Skelton, 3/1 (was 9/4) Mr Nicholls, 13/2 (was 9/2) Lieutenant Henderson. New additions to the market are - 33/1 Gordon Elliott, 150/1 Venetia Williams & FOB, 200/1 Olly Murphy. These prices are 'win only' by the way.

My prediction back at the start of the season was 1. WP Mullins, 2. Lieutenant Henderson, 3. Mr Nicholls, 4. Dan Skelton and, to be honest, my view has changed very, very little on this since then.

But, I'll stop waffling, and ask the pertinent question - is there any real value in this market right now??? Maybe the 13/2 on Hendo has some possible punting potential but note, team, I'm not, I say not, using any capital 'P''s in this instance!!!

I know its early days, with in the main comparatively small money being raced for, but Hendo sits only 23rd in the NH Trainers Championship table at the time of writing - although only 2 trainers above him have a better % strike-rate. Mr Nicholls is 6th behind a 1-2-3 of Dan Skelton (has a £130k lead), FOB and Olly Murphy. Although I guess a few wins for any trainer, once the bigger prizes become available, will greatly, and i do mean greatly, alter the current standings.

In summary then I'm not particularly inspired but is anyone else re the old NH Trainers Championship market???

I haven't followed racing much lately (other than the big events) and don't know when NH ends for this purpose, but I guess the championship will be decided by those races with the big prize money. So I would be looking at who has the top horses in each category. If Mullins totally dominates in this respect then it's either take the 6/4 before it shortens any more or don't bet at all. If he doesn't totally dominate then I would just leave alone altogether

17:00 Windsor, a Class-5 Handicap (Div. 2) over an extended 1m3f on good-to-firm ground, is a competitive affair with many in with a chance of success. Will take a plunge with the Tamayuz gelding, Fullforward, in this event. Hopeful he will manage a podium finish, at least. Past form not bad in the context of this race. Wears visor as in previous runs. William Carson rides for the Michael Madgwick yard.

14/1 top price in most places early-doors, on the ATR site. E/W best option.

5h of the 11-runners. Badly hampered but no excuses, would not have beaten the eventual winner.

Willie certainly has the fire power but bear in mind, despite all his Grade 1 successes in 23/24, it was the £500k for the GN that got him over the line. On the basis that he’s not guaranteed to win that every year even with 6-8 of the field I’d be against him. Probably a first success for fiddling Dan Skelton would be my prediction. No bet though.
