Landmark day for us as SQUIRE runs his last race for us. On Wednesday he will be at Tattersalls HIT Sale. A little bit sad to be saying goodbye to a beautiful animal who has brought me so much pleasure and helped me to meet and form friendships with some fantastic people. Lets go out on a high old boy.
Do you mind me asking is the sale by choice or did you only have him for a set amount of time from the off?
No we decided a couple of months ago that he could probably do with a change of scenery. A couple of the lads had to pull out, one for health reasons, so we decided to let him go. I myself have moved abroad so no longer am I able to go to the yard or races. It was time.
Shame, must be quite hard to sell them on, I imagine you develop quite an attachment to them. Hopefully he finds a good home and you can enjoy the memories and experiences he's provided
Good luck today stick, hope his last run gives you great enjoyment with a win and a bit more sunshine to go with the sunshine you're getting in retirement in Spain
Lovely post, Stick, and hope he goes out on a high for you this evening. What sort of price would you be looking for on Wednesday???
thank you stick for being so honest and generous with your association with squire , we've all become attached in one way or another as a result , wishing you all the best today of course , but thanks again for your integrity in this .
As it is a grey Monday at the end of October I would imagine many of you are thinking of buying your better half a new bikini. Now, with the vast array of products available out there, choosing the right one can be a minefield. Being a public-spirited person I thought I would post the video below in which Kat Wonders goes through everything you need to know. The polkerdot number at around 15:30 really caught my eye
Blimey, anyone got a few quid? He is so well handicapped, if a change of yards did the trick he could well be a horse that returns up the handicap. My question to the forum, if you were looking for a trainer for this horse, who would it be?
Hello stranger - all well? I'd send him to Brian Ellison and have him schooled over hurdles. But that's just me
Fully aware I sound like a broken record but Ruth Carr would be amongst my top preferences. She tends to do pretty well with horses fitting Squire's current profile.
Quri 1255 Ayr dickie Johnson rides and is in cracking form I think he had 4 trebles last week. I like when Irish raiders come over they're normally raised a good few pounds which hasn't happened this time but the price is pretty skinny 6/4 hopefully 2/1 might get offered and then I'm ALL IN if that's the case gl if you play
Got to be Archie Watson- wouldn’t be the first time he would get a well handicapped horse who is struggling to win and bring a whole new bit of life in to him! Pulsating springing to mind instantly!
Four names, and all four would be in my top ten, but not my number one selection. I’d love to know the statistics on horses leaving Attwater and whether they improve their handicap mark in their next three runs. If only I had raceform available! On another note, how lovely to have Cheltenham back and how great to see Frodon jump fence to fence yesterday. Did anyone see this years PPGC winner at Cheltenham on Saturday?
