Probably my favourite day's sport of the whole year. Top class racing, lots of footy and leftover turkey.

Jenkins, The New One and Thistlecrack on my list so far, absolutely can't wait. Just need to get this fecking Christmas nonsense out of the way first <laugh>

No offence odds but Why do you think The New One can win- VVM ok could argue needs longer but she showed at Cheltenham and Punchestown she can cope with 2m getting 6lbs from the boys she beat a fairly good performance by MTOY but it was prObably one run too many at Punchestown and she will run the race i reckon like she did that day - MTOY has put some shocker runs in but excuses can be made for both runs and finally on good ground anythkng like the performances at Cheltenham and aintree he will be right up there and 8/1 I would rather take that then the 11/4 3/1of the TNO who doesn't have a great record of beating My tent 3-1 I think the scores are. Ok his last performnaxe was very good but he just short of a top top G1 2m hurdler- anything longer than that I would give him a massive shout Yanworth the upcoming hurdler supposedly so I would put any of those three above TNO But my money is on the super sub of a mare!

Will be at kempton, backing Cue Card however I may put some money on thistlecrack as well.

The hurdle will be one of 4 but I will be backing yanworth with maybe a cheeky one MTOY.

Hoping to see Frodon carry on his good form with a win as well. I was tempted to back some horses at Leopardstown as well but have decided against burning all my money in one day.

Let's get Xmas out of the way for the main day of the Christmas period!

None taken Woolly, my thinking is based on (1) the weather forecast which makes me think the race may well start on soft and (2) recent form, where I think TNOs victory at Cheltenham stands above anything VVM and Yanworth have achieved this season. If they use the same tactics on TNO as at Cheltenham, and if he jumps so cleanly again, then I think he will be difficult to get past on soft ground. From that perspective his price offers value. It will need a ground check on the day but if it does come up soft, then that will be the bet for me.

Barry has awful record on MTOY- now he's on Yanworth and if the ground still has good in the description, i think the value will be on My Tent
Can't wait for the KG- would love to see Thistlecrack win and become the real superstar we all want him to be
    Great day's sport <cheers>

& Merry Christmas to one and all, long may the tips continue to fly in from all on here for the year to come <cheers>

it looks as though it will be a very tricky card at Kempton on Boxing Day.
One definite for me will be JENKINS although I imagine the price will be very short. Very interesting to see how he gets on though on route to the Supreme Novices at the festival.

Christmas Hurdle - I will look at nearer the time. Without Faugheen you can make a case for at least 3 of them.
King George - confusing....Whoever I back will probably lose <laugh>. Was leaning heavily towards Cue Card but the small field will probably help Thistlecrack and so at the moment undecided. Since we could probably do with a new superstar my heart will probably rule my head and back THISTLECRACK. Whether he wins..I'm not sure.

All is not well at Closutton, I am convinced of it. Be very interesting to see who lines up in the Ryanair Hurdle next week - Annie Power, Clondaw Warrior, Faugheen, Footpad, Ivan Grozny, Nicholls Canyon, VVM, Whiteout and Yorkhill all entered at the moment.

Given the noises Ruby was making the other day you'd expect Faugheen to be running, but who the hell knows?

With VVM out I now see The New One as an odds-on shot. He readily held MTOY giving him 8lbs last time out and if they set him off in front and gradually wind up the pace from the front (like Johnson did at Cheltenham last time) I can't see anything getting past him. I think MTOY has looked well below his best this season (how much did that superb second to Annie Power in the Champion Hurdle take out of him?) and Yanworth won't have the speed for this.

I'd be all over Yanworth myself, I don't think that International form is worth one iota.

Sitting in work, nothing to do so i have looked through Monday.

12.55 Kempton - Looking for a bit of value here. I wasn’t convinced by Jenkins jumping technique but clearly a very good animal. The 2nd and 3rd that day have franked it as good form but you would have to be disappointed they haven’t won, although the 4th has got his head up. Glaring was a 108 flat rated horse at his peak over staying trips and was seemingly unfancied on hurdle debut, winning nicely and beating a couple of fancied runners from Henderson and King. Will come on from that run and receives 3lbs from the favourite. Ballyhill looks exposed and Elgin is hard to weigh up with the horse he finished 2nd to Cruiseaweigh dissapoiting twice now – albeit with excuses.

Feltham - Frodon is rated 4lbs or higher than all of his opponents here and also receives a weight for age allowance of 7lbs. He jumps brilliantly and his only real mistake so far in 5 races was when he made an error in the Paddy Power, for which he was then nursed home. He showed he was well handicapped by winning next time in the Caspian, beating experienced rivals. He has to prove his stamina for this step up in trip but the pedigree suggests this shouldn’t be an issue with Nickname producing Yala Enki, Le Mecurey and Aurore D’estruval to name some. Anibale Fly is the obvious danger, 2nd in the Drinmore recently. Staying on but unable to reach the winner but I don’t think he will be able to give 7lbs to the selection.

Xmas Hurdle - I’m not convinced Yanworth wants 2miles, especially at this speed track. He made hard work of beating Lil Rockerfelelr when receiving 4lbs over 19f. My Tent Or Yours likely has other targets in mind, but should pick up some nice prize money here and ideally a drop in ratings to boot. The New One took to a change of tactics well with Dicky on board and you would hope that STD will employ these now. He jumped the best I have seen him and gave his rival 8lbs.

King George - A poor turnout of 5 declared for the showpiece. Thistlecrack has looked pretty impressive but his jumping so far hasn’t blown me away, his class and engine has just been too much for his inferior opposition so far and this will be his first proper test over fences. I would rather take the safe option of Cue Card who has been superb in the past 2 seasons. He tends to need his seasonal debut but other than that he has been consistently putting in 170+ peformances. Won pretty comfortably from Coneygree and looks as good as ever.

1.50 Wetherby – Yala Enki looked fantastic over fences firs time out in the UK, beating some nicely handicapped rivals. 10lbs rise for that seems fair and the fact Venetia sends him in open handicap company just over a week later tells you all you need to know. Softer the ground the better and Deutsch takes off 3lbs. Danger would be Our Kaempfer, looked well handicapped based on his hurdles form.

Over the sea i like Identity Thief against Min and Attribution against Bellshill.

Actinpieces 1 50 wetherby -- bottom weight in this good quality handicap , was joint fav first time out in a listed race over fences , so obviously well thought of -- took a couple of starts to get off the mark , but she did the same over hurdles and rattled off a hat trick this time last year , wetherby clearly suits and could well be up to.taking this prize for her in form stable ....12/1

IF Yanworth is a serious Champion contender he has to be winning the Christmas Hurdle.

Kempton is an absolute speed track and it will really test his cruising speed. I think he is up to it and will absolutely hack up, but MYOY will possibly reverse with TNO as the track will play to his strength.

Mr Henderson has a chance of a 291/1 chance of four timer in the first races at kempton! Although I do really fancy the first three (JENKINS,GOLD PRESENT, MIGHT BITE- who I fancy to upset the Irish Raider)
