In theory there is an absolute tool running for McCain tomorrow in the Bangor bumper. Mahler Lad beat both Bellshill and Bordini in his point to point. I doubt it's a race i'll bet in because i'm not sure about McCain's yard at the moment, but, a reproduction of the performance in Ireland will mean Amber Gambler et al will need to be very high quality to win.
Thoughts on Wyck Hill going over hurdles surely the start of his road to a national his mark does look very lenient racing a off a mark of 106
I say Stick, me old love, that’s a strange turn of phrase re Long Run. ‘How the mighty can fall’. He hasn’t fallen he’s simply not 100%, not quite right, not fit enough so the Mr Waley-Cohen’s and Mr Henderson have decided to give him the rest of the campaign to recuperate and the old boy will be back in the Autumn. Don’t forget by that stage he’ll still only be a 10YO. And if asked to name the most likely winner of the 2016 Grand National then I’d say Long Run. Don’t write him off quite yet! As to the 2015 renewal of the heat I’d say Merry King was now something of a standout. However, I don’t like the trainer, his preferred jockey (however hopefully THAT man will be lured away by something his ‘special’ friend JP owns) or his number 2 jockey, Richie McLernon. Quite possibly the worst saddle monkey currently riding. Still despite all that I think Merry King looks very good re this year’s race and 25/1 a price worth taking regular readers.
Long Run has still been a top flight racehorse, maybe no champion, but a talented individual nevertheless. From what I gather, he's won 15 races and amassed 1,542,715 pounds in earnings. Add to that an impressive list of scalps including the likes of Kauto Star, Denman, What A Friend, Tidal Bay, Imperial Commander etc, and you have a horse anyone would love to own. Nobody escapes Father Time.
With Bangor off I would have thought AP will be heading to Exeter to jock off Richie Mclernon. Might see some market movement influenced by that if it comes to pass.
Shame about Bangor looked a better card to pick apart. Exeter 250 PITTER PATTER 6s is very big on this potter was .4 of a length behind the fav a while back and that day there was 18 lbs he was giving the fav so with today seeing them on level weights effectively gives potter an 18 lbs advantage to that race , I won't bore you with the rest.
110 Wolverhampton GIVE US A BELLE 17s is huge this belle loves Wolverhampton and the distance. This has been run at Lingfield for a couple of races and could return with a bang the jockey booking is however a little strange but at this weight now really looks the time for give us a belle to step up a notch ew
Not tipping it (so regular readers no need to race out to trade with your local bookie chappie) but it’s somewhat fitting, or dare I say ironic, to see Waldolf Salad running down in ‘Fawlty Towers’ county later today (2.20 Exeter). First time he’s ever done this. Should we be taking the hint and snapping up some of the 16/1?!?
13:50 Exeter - Kalifourchon (Unfortunately, from me, one to avoid of course, but this Pipe runner is interesting, so managed to get 8/1 about an hour ago. Rarely ever back Pipe horses because I'm damned if I know what the hell they are going to do. If there is a problem it is that the distance might be a bit too short as Kalifourchon's breeding is absolutely packed with stamina. Still, the form of the rest of the field is pretty average I would say? Jim Frost's runner Ice König is a possibility, so will have a very small saver on him, plus an equally small r/f). GL to everyone today having a bet. Keep up the good work!
