Morning all, Just the one at NEWCASTLE 3.00 ASTEROID BELT 7/1 Steps up in trip today after a decent run LTO, off bottom weight I am expecting a good run. Best Of Luck All
Presto Volante in the last at Bath. Did well on comeback run after 2 years off, stepped up in trip to 11f nto and again went well, going best late on, stepped up in trip again today which I think will suit. First time Cheekpieces tried today.Firm ground will suit better than the mud he has ruin in last two starts. Interesting bet a 10/1 I think, 3 places paid for insurance.
Morning, crew. If asked to describe today’s racing in 6 words I’d reply ‘Well above average for a Monday’. 2 of my favourite tracks race though, dear old Bath and God’s own racecourse, Newton Abbot, so perhaps one is slightly biased. Anyway these have caught the old Chuckle eye: ZAPLAMATION is an old fave of my mine and I think he looks primed to go very well up at Newcastle this afternoon (4.10). I have fond memories of him winning in the past and here off a perch of 61 and with old boy Twiston-Davies taking a further 7 pounds off the son of Acclamation looks very attractive. Won over hurdles on his latest start but Zaplamation is no mug on the level and after a few near misses earlier in the campaign can oblige here. Just what, I say what, are those old rogues the Pipe’s up to in the 4.10 at Newton Abbot?!? I can deffo smell a plot. The one who smacks me in the old chops is the bottom weight, HOME RUN. He was more than capable on the level on the old continent but so far over the sticks has been less successful and he seems to have a liking for finishing 9th! The best he’s ever done over hurdles is when beaten a whopping 27 lengths but off a feather weight but he looks Interesting with a capital ‘I’ this afternoon. An each-way recommendation. Finally, across the water at Galway COCKTAIL HOUR (5.05), what a lovely name for a filly by the way, should oblige. Not beaten far in her 2 runs to date she is a confident selection this afternoon. Would imagine that the filly would next time out be competing at Listed/Group level. Good luck, all.
Morning all SBC there was a big gamble on HOME RUN last time out and he was most disappointing my old friend.
WHENEVER 5-1 5.10 Newton Abbot Richard Phillips may be a bit of a comedian but he isn't parking around when he legs the champ up on one!
RV, they may be keen then to recoup the money today. Those old Pipe’s rarely leave their money in the bookie chappies satchels. I just get the impression that they are up to 'something' both with Home Run and in the 4.10 at Newton Abbot.
One for me that i like today at Newton Abbot in the 2.10, Adelar which is the only runner Venetia Williams today at the course... Its now only 6/4 shot but i do think it will come in first... May double it up SBC's and Stick selections for hopefully a nice little return...
afternoon all-one I like today is kingdom in the first of galway.Young joseph has taken the favourite eye of the storm but I think the Montjeu colt is good enough to take this at 9/2.
Boooom! Hughes does look good when he wins them in that fashion, though i'm sure he loses a few by being flash!
Money for your horse today Bucks. I think Johnson has one in the same race that is very dangerous though. Will improve upped to 2m and running off 57 you always have to fear that type of handicapper from his yard.
Afternoon guys, think that Paul Midgley might have an eventful afternoon with his runners at Newcastle this afternoon all of which look well handicapped to go well, starting with 4.00 Rub Of The Relic 25/1 (EW), 4.30 Spirit Of Coniston 22/1 & Besty 28/1 (EW), 5.30 Dolly Diva 18/1 (EW)
Morning all, One for me today: 2:20 Bath - Sputnik Sweetheart 5/2 Good luck with all bets! Boom - Get in! Thanks Jeff for the congrats and well with your winner!
Ive been reading paul nicholls stable guide 12/13, where he mentions all his horses, so if anyone is interested in his comments for any particular horse i'll type it up for you. For example. Zarkandar "Our leading juvenile of 2010/11 who had an interrupted season after getting a small injury which kept him off the track until feb. when he did make the track he won the ultra competetive betfair hurdle at newbury on his seasonal debut. a feat that hadn't occured in the history of the race. what was more remarkable was that he started coughing 2 days later. He was never at his best from then on really and came from along way back to finish 5th in the champion hurdle before taking a crashing fall in the aintree hurdle. with an uninterrupted campaign we hope to target the best races around at 2 miles, with a tilt at the champion hurdle our main objective. we do accept that he might need further in time but he should be a stronger horse this year as a lot of horses in their 4/5th year strengthen remakably." I have no idea how recent PN wrote these comments but the book came out last week i think.
