Long way to go, but our Tony's driver Kovalainen is 13th at the moment, which would be a great finishing position for Caterham. Air Asia prominent on rear wing, green car.
Supporting the brand! ( doubt very much it will finish like this, but looks like it might rain there, could get interesting)

Watching it as always but the lack of overtaking opportunities makes Monaco my least favourite track. I know they say it's a chess game but pit-stop strategies and pit performance doesn't make a visual spectacle.

Can't understand why this race is so popular.

I'm with you there Brix. Think it's the 'glamour' and the fact that it's a totally unforgiving track - any mistake you are in a wall rather than a run off area. Tyres playing rather too big a role for me this year.

OMG, I agree with you both of two, has this ever happened before?

Had to happen sometime Roller. Actually quite enjoying this race, as I have no idea who has the best chance of winning. All down to strategy I guess. Kovalainen frustrating Button, which is great fun. Wild punt on Webber to win.

Im hoping for a Vettel Alonso crash to move Hamilton up and give Kova a chance of a point.

That doesn't sound too sporting, old boy.

Think I'm a bit older than you Flyer, when I first started watching F1 in the early 70s almost any crash was potentially fatal. Delighted that this is no longer the case, but I wouldn't wish a crash on anyone.
Have a look at the great film about Ayrton Senna to get a sense of how recently safety has tightened up. There was also a very good documentary about it on TV recently, I'll try and find the name. Jackie Stewart may be a whiny little git, but an absolute hero in this respect.

I think someone was saying to me a few days ago that 1976 (?) was a remarkable year in Grand Prix racing as that was the first year that no one had died for many years. Does that sound about right?

Think so - year that Hunt won, but Lauda was so horrifically burned. Hunt said at the end 'I deserved to win, but so did Niki and I wish we could share it'.
Ron Howard is making a film about it now, called 'Rush' I think

Have the leaders of a race ever all been so close near the end of a race? But will anyone actually manage to fashion an overtaking move?

Kovalainen driving a storm, son reckons the Sauber has a Chelsea badge on it for some reason, so we need that place back.

Love to join the discussion but I'm miles (literally) behind you. Family keeps making me put it on pause to look at this and that! Maclaren disappointing (again) on pit stops. Haiki's doing a grand job getting Caterham in the picture. Most races you hardly hear a word about them.

Apparently only 16 overtakes last year!

Won't tell you the result Brix, but hang on for the post race comment to see Eddie Jordan wearing the most bizarre shirt in human history.

Fell asleep after 20 minutes, woke up during the 66th lap, missed nothing, saw Vettel coming back on the track in front of Hamilton and that's that.

For me the Belgium Grand Prix at Spa is probably the most exciting and unpredictable race of the season. They are making a big mistake in deciding to only run it once every two years. I suppose they just go where the money and sponsorship is. Monaco is little more than a procession. At least it was good to see the green car with the QPR badge mixing it with a Mclaren today. <ok>

A GP driver had a 2/3rds chance of dying during his career in the 60s. They used a leather cap for head protection and had no seatbelts, no barriers and zero safety.

its not like it is now where it takes a freak occurrence for someone to get seriously hurt.

To be honest, the races in Bahrain, Abu Dabi, China, Barcelona, Valencia and Turkey are most of the times boring as hell. Sometimes i wished that the races of the old days would return. With tracks up to 10 miles on regular roads in some place hilly like in Italy, Sweden(would be lovely with the pit babes) or in Germany. More open road circuits like Spa.
