I was tempted to give Ocon worst driver for that, obviously looking at that 2nd mercedes seat

Very disappointing, it's bad enough when Red Bull and Toro Rosso do it, never mind even less tangible relationships. Force India/Ocon sacrificed points then, undoubtedly. I'm sure Ocon could have kept Hamilton behind until the end.

I don't have a problem with team orders, as long as they're within a team. Things like this really don't do the sport any favours.
I don't like the way it's become normalised either. "Oh don't expect the Haas to defend too hard against the Ferrari, har har" etc on the commentary really winds me up.

It's sad when a team appears to have to prioritise "sucking up to a manufacturer" over actually racing.

Completely agree. Team orders are just part of the sport, but two separate teams conspiring to change a result should be illegal and punishable. It needs stamping out.

The only thing I can say in his defence is that Hamilton would've got ahead when Ocon had pitted, but there was no reason to just give it up, you don't really have to drive defensively at Monaco and lose time to defend you just your normal line

Maybe I'm in the wrong here, but didn't Ocon effectively "overcut" Hamilton by running 6-7 laps longer on the softest compound, whilst Hamilton nursed his used, harder tyres and had traffic? I didn't think Hamilton had the gap to Ocon for a pitstop. The race pace was so slow.

I'm probably wrong, but regardless I still don't feel Ocon should have acted like he was being lapped.

I'm not excusing it, it took the piss imo, any other track, fine. Just pointing out that he didn't lose any net position, but if Hamilton had been forced to take a 2nd stop he would've

    Best Driver: Ricciardo
Worst Driver: Verstappen. Sure he had a good race but should have been in the top 2 and probably capitalise on Ricciardos issue if he didnt f*** up in FP3
    Luckiest Driver: Ricciardo
    Unluckiest Driver: Alonso and Hartley
    Best Rookie/New Driver: Gasly

    Best Team: Red Bull
    Surprise Team: Force India
    Worst Team: Williams.....Just what??
Best Overtake: Verstappen on Sainz. He is probably the most creative overtaker on the grid. just needs to learn how to analyse risk.

    Most Surprising Result: OCON
    Least Surprising Result: STROLLOL

Surely they were the luckiest drivers as they didn't have to complete the entire race?

Wouldn't that have been a bonus!?
