Who do we think we are?
The fans expectations are way to high...etc etc etc..

Just a few comments made by the previous manager...

Then turn your attention to the new man in charge....what a difference, how nice for all you who get there and to be appreciated..He's certainly got a knack of saying the correct things...

Victory against QPR tasted even sweeter for Martin O'Neill given the "remarkable" backing his team received at Loftus Road.

More than 1,200 fans made the long journey to the capital just four days before Christmas and three days after a Sunday assignment at Tottenham Hotspur.

O'Neill, who complimented the supporters after the game at White Hart Lane, spoke passionately about the travelling fans again after seeing Wes Brown score a late winner.

Nicklas Bendtner and Stephane Sessegnon had given the Black Cats a two-goal lead, only for QPR to level the scores through Heidar Helguson and Jamie Mackie before Brown's 89th-minute decider.

"I'm delighted with the team; delighted with their character and performance and obviously that is augmented by the tremendous support of the crowd," he said.

"That's twice now they've made the long journey to the capital - on Sunday and again [to Loftus Road]. It's remarkable and let me tell you, really appreciated
    .

"It's fantastic to win, a game at 2-2 is in the balance, but we fought back and won the game."

He's a proper manager isn't he. He's one of us.

I think Bruce was a desperate man in desperate circumstances. In his better moments he would say 'I can understand the fans' feelings after we played like that.' In his worse moments we were a bunch of unrealistic dreamers who'd had it in for him since the Newcastle result, and all his problems were our fault.

The bottom line was HE couldn't put it right.
