    As far as new signings go....

    “When we come back from South Korea I would expect the situation to change,” O’Neill told the club’s website.

    “We’re obviously in the market to try to strengthen our team.

    “I think that’s pretty obvious – all football clubs will be trying to do that.

    “But for us it would be nice to add a couple of fresh faces – not just for the sake of it, but to improve the quality of the squad which is what we’re trying to do.”

    Think it will be more than "a couple" we have lost Bendtner, Gyan and Gordon who all need replacing before we even look at improving what we have upon, as MoN said last season our squad was paper thin and since then bar the 3above we have lost Kyrgiakos who we have replaced with Cuellar and also the departure of Bridge.

    Think its gunna be a case of 6 or 7 rather than "a couple"

    Defiantly mate, not just paper thin on numbers but also real quality. I think a couple of the young reserves will be given a good runout during preseason as well.

    I think 6 total could be about right Poolie

    IMO the other 5 will be

    LB= Warnock / Anita
    CM= N`Zoni
    WINGER=McGeady / Matty Phillips
    CF= Fletcher
    CF= Saha / Guidetti / Agbonlahor

    If you get any of the above I will be surprised and impressed. They're all cracking players.

    please, anyone but him! Would add nothing to our side, been poor for a few season's now, wasn't even a regular in a pretty poor Villa team last season, I hope we go for a better left back, Anita would be canny but think he would rather be in the midfield were he is better than our lot but him at left back with N'Zonzi in the middle would be decent

    He may not be a natural Left back but Richardson is 3 times better than Warnock is now. Would rather have Nick Shorey for free than waste a few million on Warnock. Cuellar was getting picked ahead of him at left back at Villa. Hes finished, bit like bridge really.

    Id love Matt Phillips and Fletcher. Think Saha is more realistic than Agbonlahor or Guidetti. I do think that that Agbonlahor and Fletcher could be a lethal combo but I can't see him leaving Villa

    Shorey signed for Reading yesterday.

    Saha is class, if he can stay fit (I know it's a big if) he'll get you a few goals. Whoever signs him will get a good return.

    Somebody has to get hold of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea next season, why not Sunderland? They are the type of players you have to be looking at to bolster a squad, risking £12-15m on Agbonlahor is a gamble that very few teams can afford.
