I can. Hopefully secures a relegation slot for them! Desperate measures to avoid the drop. At least our desperate measures were at a logical time and produced improved results.
This also shows that without John Robertson as his sidekick O'Neill is not quite as good as many believe...
Four sackings, one justified (Hughes), the others seem almost petty and pointless. First sacking in his career for O Neill I believe. Crazy.
Spot on sacking/resignation. Most on here agreed that Sunderland was on a downward spiral heading for the drop, the most likely candidate outside the bottom three to make the drop. I'm loathing this sack mentality as much as the next guy but at the moment it seemed the only way to try and stop the rot. Would be interesting to know what the Sunderland lot think of this. But the statistics were against MO'N. O'Neill won seven of his first 10 PL matches in charge of Sunderland but only nine of the last 45. Almost Hughes'esque. If it was my club, to be honest I think I'd be happy about it. Desperation and all.
O'Neill has had us playing unbelievably bad football and not picking up enough points since this time last year. Hopefully someone decent comes in and has a few games as a honeymoon period.
At least you got him and not Hughes, he got you eight more points than us. Think you should've got rid at Xmas?
Its us, Reading and sunderland to go down, theres 4 awful teams if you include Villa. Wed easily finished above the other 3 if we had Redknapp all season. Hughes is 2nd fav, would if just be typical if the **** kept them up if he was hired.
