1. Aluko 2. Aluko 3. Aluko Everyone else had a mare or a pretty forgettable performance. Some nice passing and link-up play in the first half by the midfield, but that faded away. Figueroa was awful, Meyler was clumsy and aimless, Dawson was surprisingly poor and Sagbo just looked disinterested. The game changed when Chester went off.
Aluko Quinn Chester Nothing good came out of that second half. The gaps between Dawson, Maguire and Figueroa for Downing's goal were remarkable.
Aluko Quinn Chester Permanent seat on the bench for Huddlestone now. No urgency, no flair... just looked like he couldn't be arsed. At least Meyler/Quinn/Livermore looked up for it.
Chester Aluko Bruce Today showed that we have a lot of players who are Championship quality as there was so little quality from us, we had a good first half and some chances first half but you have to take them. As soon as we went behind it was like we gave up.
Chester (once he went off we were crap) Bruce (ditto) Aluko (could have easily been MoM but too one-footed and wouldn't pull the trigger) So disappointing in that we were by far the better team first half but should have converted at least two of our chances. Second half we were gash.
Bruce Chester. There's a reason it all fell apart when they went off. Don't want to give third place to Aluko because although he caught the eye his finishing was probably in the same league as McGregor's keeping, but I honestly can't think of anyone else who deserves it.
