Great hardworking, team performance. We pressed Tottenham tremendously well and also looked dangerous going forward with Long and Jelavic linking up very nicely.

    Long
    Davies
    Jelavic

Harper was solid in goal, and dealt really well with some of Tottenham’s set pieces into the box, also not to mention a fantastic save in the first half from Adebayor’s volley. Davies was an absolute rock and mopped up superbly in defence, making numerous blocks and clearances. McShane was good in the air and also made a couple of great last ditch challenges. Rosenior was solid and Figueroa grew into the game after a poor first half. Meyler was dogged in midfield, and Huddlestone had a fairly quiet game but did well off the ball. It was great to have Brady back, and he put in a solid performance to say he’s been out for a while. Elmo also did well, particularly in that he pushed us forward. Long was quite simply excellent; he’s such a tricky, clever player, and linked up nicely with Jelavic who was so unlucky not to score.

    Davies by a mile.
    Rosenior
    Long

Thought Huddlestone and Figgy were poor. Figgy cost us the goal by inexplicably running back and playing two of their players onside behind the wall.

Otherwise, great match and encouraging performance against an extremely quick passing Spuds team.

    1. Davies!
    2. Rosie
    3. Long

Thud was fairly anonymous this game, apart from his free kick that fizzed across the box.
Jelavic deserves a mention too for getting into some fantastic positions, its a shame nothing came from it.
Harper deserves a mention, I don't like it when a goalie punches - However he did it with confidence.

Mention for McShane and Figgy who did some great covering work but one or two dodgy moments for each leaves them out of contention, easy 3 to pick.

Koren and Boyd made us look far more incisive and should both start on the wings next weekend.

I've been critical of Meyler of late but thought he was great today.

Davies (incredible performance... hope you were watching Roy).
Long (took his goal brilliantly...just what we've been missing)
McShane (absolute rock...back to his best)

Honorable mention ...Jelavic (looked dangerous all day...set up Long's goal...worked his socks off)

I thought meyler was brilliant today, his energy allows us more space and he's constantly in people's faces

Good team performance, way better than Norwich and Palace.
