On loan winger Kaid Mohamed says he would like to extend his stay at the Memorial Stadium beyond the end of the season, as he prepares to help Bristol Rovers try to retain their Football League status this weekend. Mohamed, who arrived from Port Vale during the January transfer window, will play the final game of his loan spell when Mansfield Town are the visitors for the final game of the season at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Rovers need only a draw to secure Football League status and condemn either Northampton Town or Wycombe Wanderers to relegation. Mohamed said: "We need to get what we need on Saturday and then after we get that job done we can start thinking about better times next season. I've loved my time here and I've enjoyed the opportunity to play regular football. I'm giving 100 per cent in every game I play and I have been happy with my form and to have scored a couple of goals. I have another year left at Port Vale, so I have to find out what is going on with that, but I'd love to stay and be here next season." Mohamed, who has scored four times in 20 appearances, added: "The amount of fans we took to Wycombe last weekend gives you a small taste of what things could be like if we were going for promotion. We are in a relegation battle and we still get support like that week-after-week. It was superb. It was great to be involved in a game like that. I had goose bumps at the end when Clarky scored that goal and I really enjoyed the experience. It was an amazing feeling. We're nearly there, but we are not over the line yet. It is always nice to win a game because you can take that confidence into the next one. We have generally been good at home and we are looking forward to getting the job done on Saturday. We need a draw, but everyone is on a high and we'll be going all out to win the game." Taken from the post.
fast, can score, can play on wing and up front. i say worth keeping if we can as long as we dont pay stupid money in wages. i like him as i can still remember he ripped us apart when played for cheltenham at the mem scoring and was by far the best player on the pitch. looking at opposition players, he stands out in my top 5 players who we have faced in the last 5 years or so.
im only counting league games mind. danny cadamarteri. he was playing for huddersfield at the time. it was a night game and he tore us apart. he made our defence look stupid. robert snodgrass when playing for leeds. he ran the midfield and stood out a mile. our players couldnt get near him when we lost 4-0 at home. morgan schniderlin (unsure on spelling) for southampton of course. (lallana was playing then as well but didnt think much of him at the time) martin (dont know 1st name) striker/winger for norwich at the time. we couldnt cope and was best player on the pitch when we lost 5-1 at their place. shout out to pilkington (huddersfield), puncheon (southampton) and beckford (leeds) who all impressed me a lot and stood out as top opposition!
Agree with CJS over Schneiderlin and Snodgrass, they destroyed us. I have to add Beckford to my personal list because he was different class. My other two would be Nadjim Abdou of Millwall and George Boyd when he was at Peterborough.
Accrington's Molyneaux looked good, but he's probably high maintenance. Morecambe's Redshaw and Hartlepool's Barmby may be worth a punt. I would rather have Kaid Mohamed playing for us than someone else. He's always a thorn in the side and if he can be as prolific as he was for Bath we'll have quite a player.
I think he's worth keeping...a one year contract should do it. He's got what we've been crying out for - pace. He likes to run at defences and has shown he can score. Yes, he's erratic, but we're a bottom of League 2 side and both Ronaldo and Messi are under contract!
I wasn't impressed by Kaid's signing but he's been one of our better performers since he joined. He's inconsistent, but so's everyone else apart from Smudger and Mildy. However, he does tend to deliver more often than not, has pace and a goal about him so I agree with P49 - give him a one year contract and let's see what he can do next season.
Elliot Richards is happy to stay at Exeter but has not been offered a deal by them yet. Wouldn't mind him staying at Rovers to be honest.
richards is basically saying the same thing that mohamed is saying. doubt these players will come out and say i dont want to come back.
