Even though he behaved like a total bellend I'll be hoping he has a good game tonight and a good rest of his career really.

I feel I should hate him for the way he treated his teammates, the manager, the club and fans but I do love watching him play and since he went to a foreign club that dislike of him seems to have washed away.

Anyone else going to be cheering him on tonight?

Not sure if he has arrived at the right (or wrong time) with all the crap that seems to be going on at Madrid but yeah I hope he does well, as his performances with us are what got him the move so be great to see the rat faced genius become a star with Madrid.

    Nope.
I hope he has a mare and his career goes down the toilet.

He acted like a total twat for the start of two seasons, signed a long deal and then almost immediately demanded to be released from it, then moaned about Levy not selling him on the cheap.
He also had all of his mates moaning in the press and his agent talking to any club with money, basically.

Who?? Seriously, I should say it's one of those "who gives a toss" games. Modric? I really couldn't care less how he plays. He's not a Spurs player anymore, Nd I don't really care for the way he handled himself, or treated his team mates.

    Totally agree with PNP.

His conduct and attitude were a disgrace.
He is one of the few ex players that won't receive a good reception should he ever play at the Lane with his new club

It's interesting how Madrid have used him. They have played him as the AM behind their main forward, the role VDV did for you lot last year. I thought he would play alongside Alonso, but Jose has played him further up. He is a quality player but he has never been the best in the final third in terms of goals especially, so I can't see him making much of an impression at Madrid if he keeps playing this new role.

I watched him make his debut for Madrid and I certainly do not think he will be out of place there.

However as PNP said with regards his conduct. Though I must say yes he behaved like he did for us but is that not the nature of the beast? We have allowed players to have so much power and our club has also benefitted from such behaviour. Modric wanted to go anywhere he could really so long as he got big-money. Dempsey kind of did the same before we nabbed him...maybe not for that length of time or that much hype but the sentiment was the same.

Not really bothered about his career, but tonight I will be supporting him as it is against an English team.

I hope he fails, i hope Madrid fail for the tapping up. I hope we end up in the CL and they miss out, then due to our arrangement we poach their best players leaving Modders to rot in the Bernabeu where he refuses to play til he can get his dream move to WHL.
Mourinho then quits to become AVBs assistant til AVB roundhouse kicks him in the face during an away win at Chelsea and then fires him.

That is at least as good a plot as you find in any film on "Movies for Men".

I'll be rooting pretty strongly for Real (combination of Real's link to Spurs, and disliking Man City) while hoping Modric's career goes down the tubes. I can't quite bring myself to hope Modric, or just about anyone, gets hurt, but I'm tempted.

It annoys me that Modric didn't have the, erm, masculine attributes to negotiate a short-term contract on the theory he'd prove himself worth more money soon, but chose the coward's way out of negotiating a long term contract, then breaking it with a series of hissy fits. And if that weren't enough, hearing his pals manage to get on a moral high horse about the situation was beyond ridiculous. Lemme get this straight: Levy deserves to be criticized for supposedly breaking a promise which he might or might not have made, and which, in any case, he did not break (if he made it), while Modric not honoring his contract doesn't matter...

It's too bad, because my enjoyment of the time he played for Tottenham would make me forgive a lot. I'm not that judgmental I think--I certainly wish VDV all the best, and never had any problem with Ade's hard negotiating line (he was, for me, the example of how to do things vs. Modric's how not to do things, actually)--but when you lack any modicum of human dignity you'll lose my respect.

It would be amusing if it didn't go to plan, and they offered to loan him back to us in January...

I don't care about Modric or real Madrid or Man City...he behaved like Berbatov and look how his dream ended! He won a CL losers medal as a sub, didn't make the bench for another final, won 2 prem medals (I think it was 2) mainly as a sub and didnt play in a carling cup win...and then spent a year being 4th choice before eating **** and going back to Martin Jol who he butt ****ed til he lost his job! Could have been a legend

  17. Sorry YV, but I am with PNP on this!!
Don't exactly wish him harm, but would love to see him lanquish on the RM bench for a couple of seasons and then see his career peter out back in Croatia, all the while wondering to himself how things would have turned out if he had honoured his contract.
But he is a great player, all the same.

Guillem ballague (sp?) on talksport was saying that he has come on as a sub in the first 2 games and had a great 10 minutes and then anonymous after. Then him and Adrian Durham started laughing saying that was the story of his career. I think that's unfair but I can see their point a bit as I haven't seen him control many games from start to finish like other supposed world class players. I don't want him to do well but I woul like to see Real beat City tonight with or without Modric.

Relayer he will only think that if we make positive strides forward as a club instead of being exactly where we were when he left.

Boss - I think the majority of us don't really give a ****. We didn't exactly lose a legend that we are going to be following his career path and I certainly do not want to see his legs broken...I think we got good money for him and I'm glad to get on with this new look Spurs....there's more than the Modric way to play football...JM is already deploying him in a position Harry daren't do, so that is what JM thinks of what we did with his talents.

I'm supporting Madrid tonight for the simple reason that they are playing an English team
