"CLUB ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH REAL MADRID AND TRANSFER OF LUKA MODRIC" "The Club can announce that it has signed a partnership agreement with Real Madrid FC and reached agreement for the transfer of Luka Modric, subject to medical, to the Spanish club. The partnership agreement will see the two Clubs working together in respect of players, coaching, best practices and commercial relationships. Real Madrid FC President, Florentino Perez Rodriguez, said, "The strong relationship and affinity between our two clubs has resulted in the cementing of a longer-term partnership and the successful transfer of Luka Modric. We are delighted to welcome Luka and look forward to working closely with Tottenham in the coming years." Daniel Levy, Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur, commented, "Luka has been a terrific player for us and, whilst we preferred not to part with him, we are pleased that it is to Real Madrid, a club with which we now look forward to sharing a long and productive partnership." Luka made 160 appearances for the Club, scoring 17 goals after joining from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2008. We wish him well for the future." Potentially very interesting this, Lads. No one seems to know what the offer was that we accepted with RM for Modric, but it's rumoured to be lower than previous offers we've rejected. Perhaps, this partnership we've formed could be the reason why this lower fee might be the case.

They get first dibs on Bale?!? We get......?!?
That seems like some sharp business from Levy, you could get some decent loans and transfers out of that. Glad he waited til after we got Sahin though!
It's probably something pointless, like a friendly or two to try and raise the club's profile. Our other partnerships don't seem to have any upside, so I doubt this one will. The fee seems to be either £27m or £33m, depending on which report you read, with those same figures mentioned repeatedly. Levy's got a busy week ahead of him, I think.
hahaha "Tottenhham have £13.7mill bid for Cristiano Ronaldo rejected by Real Madrid". on a serious note, do you think that a RM player could be in before the end of the window? I have a sneaky feeling now that levy has grown tired of the prices he's being quoted for players. wait for a RM loan to us before Sept 1st!!
well, at least he seems to be willing to work on bank holiday monday! 9am on B.H.M and already there's news. that's got to be encouraging going into the last week.
They said they would only sell modric when a replacement was found - not sure who that would be though if they have stuck to their word!
I know PS, but I wasn't! I'm actually worried that something might happen with that deal, as they are so desperate to get rid of him.
Are anyones socks blown off? ...have to say I didn't see this coming at all. Lockstock and Roo, they say great minds think alike...how did you 2 manage it?
Luka leaves with mixed memories. He should have won a trophy with us but didn't, however he did help provide us with the best football I've ever seen at Spurs, in absolute terms , and that includes the double team. Of course in relative terms, it wasn't as good, but it was brilliant in its own right.
